I purchases 2 iPods for Christmas in 2009 and, at the time, also purchased an extended warranty for the products at the urging of the salesperson.  In December of 2011, one of the iPods began getting a white screen.  The other had been having trouble holding a charge so I dug up my receipts and paper work and began the process of filing a claim.  I sent the iPods in for repair and received them both back a few weeks later unrepaired.  According to NEW Corp, the iPods where not covered because they showed signs of "physical damage".  One of the iPods had "port damage" according to NEW Corp.  The port is the area where the ipod is plugged in and charged and receives the most physical contact.  In my opinion, any defect here was related to normal wear and tear and every day use where the product just wore out or had a breakdown.  The other iPod was not repaired because NEW corp states that there was corrosion damage on the interior of the iPod.  The iPod was never exposed to liquid and I again feel that any "corrosion" would be the result of natual exposure to the environment.  Per the Terms and Conditions of the warranty "This plan covers parts and labor costs to repair your product in the even the product fails due to a breakdown, normal wear and tear, dust, heat, humidity and power surges."  These ipods should have been repaired under the terms and conditions of the warranty I paid for.  I do not feel NEW Corp has honored the Warranty and am very disatisfied.
