Nextel Is Caught Trying to Hide Their Unsatisfactory Record With BBB As Customer Services Hit A Record All Time Low.
We had a horrible service with Nextel wrongfully not crediting our $400.00 defective i860, then shutting our service down twice, extorting us to pay them. We will continue this story in detail later, we wany to first mention NEXTEL and now its futile attempt to hide its Unsatisfactory Record with the BBB.
We typed in our web browser www.bbb.org/ and then typed in the words NEXTEL and we must of go a list of 20 or so NEXTEL BBB reports indicating perfect/spotless satisfactory records and the math did not add up.
We dug even more and found the follwing that peaked our interest out of the many BBB report choices,

So, we clicked upon it and we read that this NEXTEL COMPANY RELIABILITY REPORT containted an UNSATISFACTORY RECORD with the BBB due to UNANSWERED COMPLAINTS.
So what was going on here? Nextel Communications a member of the BBB (paying annual fees) along with the BBB was practicing what is knowing in the industry as, "THE SPONGING OF COMPLAINTS."
This is where all complaints are absorbed to one location making all the their other stores look clean, which is very deceiving.

I purchased a brand new I860 directly from Nextel telesales for about $400.00. The telephone had troble holding a charge, so I took it to the following
(sub-contracted) Nextel Tmobil and what every other else you could imagine Gypsy Store and thats what I got......GYPSY SERVICE WHEN THEY TURNED ME AWAY ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS. I called Nextel 611 and complained, putting them out of business only for them to open up the very next week in their spouces name.
Due to the difficulty of the GYPSY NEXTEL store refusing to exchange my defective battery on two seperate occasions, some time had passed. I contacted customer service and they agree to take back my brand new telephone and ship me out a new one, how ever...they would have to bill me an addition $400.00 UNTIL THEY RECIEVED THE SUSPECTED DEFECTIVE ONE. The letter in the box read (PLEASE ALLOW UP TO SIX WEEKS FOR YOUR ACCOUNT TO BE CREDITED AFTER RECEIPT OF
SHIPMENT) Nextel obtained my brand new telephone, but did not credit my account, but enrolled me without my permission in their $75.00 BUY BACK PROGRAM......YOU HEARD RIGHT......THEY CREDITED MY ACCOUNT ONLY $75.00 FOR A $75.00 TELEPHONE, EVEN THOUGH I HAD THIS LETTER FROM THEM.
I went down to my local store and even had my service representative call in TELESALES and CUSTOMER SERVICE.
He was connected to even a MARRY WILLIAMS some where in Bangledesh and they hung up the telephone on him twice. His comments were, (THIS IS SO WRONG WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO YOU, MY COMPUTER NOTES SHOW EVERYTHING, THEY ARE WRONG TO BE DOING THIS) He was furious, and they had not shutdown service on his phone either like they had with mine, yes....out of the blue.......NO SERVICE.........Sir you must immediately pay $185.00 for us to reconnect you.
I later obtained court documentation in the mail the the opposing counsel was seeking sanctions against me from the judge for failure to respond and they had been trying to contact me, but my cell phone was disconnected. They were also billing me $160.00 for the court reporter. Several days later, I obtained a call from Nextel SUPERVISOR MARISSA CR253228, sir you owe this much, you need to pay. Listed i said, there is a mistake, you need to go back and review these certain dates and even contact these people. Her response, (I JUST GOT THIS, IT WAS JUST HANDED TO ME) Like she didn't have a care in the world, exactly 10 minutes later, PHONE DEAD AGAIN..........NO SERVICE.
My puppy was in the hospital and you people had wrongfully shutoff my phone that I also use for business, that 80% of your customers use for business.
Mr. Orchard, Senior Vice President and Chief Service Officer. I have been with your company well over 7 years, even though the original sub-contracter made false internet promises on my unlimited plan. My expenditures to your company today may exceed $15,000.00. I as well as all the readers on the internet await your promp response to this very unpleasant situation.
If any consumer has had an unhappy experience with Nextel Serices and you have exhausted 611 to death you are to take the following very effective measures.
