In 2001 We purchased a 13 week floating timeshare with a life span of 25 years. Krystal Vacation Club associates claimed that the cost of thetimeshare would be easily recovered by signing up with a vacation broker (for an additional $500. US). I was hesitant, they suggested I talk with a sales person with the brokering company, I did and they assured us that three weeks could be sold forup to $3,000.US dollars per week almost paying for the cost of buying the thirteen floating weeks, It seemed like a win win.

Rip Off #1; After arriving back I couldn't wait to put the 3 weeks up for sale, you have to paythe maintenance fee for every week that your reserving, and if your selling it or using it with RCI as a trade you don't pick the week they (Kivc)assigns one to you, at their descretion. That means that your getting off weeks for the most part. I looked into the history of the vacation brokerage co. and quickly realized I'd been scammed. They were not selling these weeks for even half of what had been told me, I was upset, still we decided not to follow up with a recourse, after all we should have know better, Right.

We used it a couple of times since buying it in 2001. Once trading it for a week else where, which worked nicely. Secondly stayingat Krystalin Cancun for a week, not bad, they put us in the owners building which was a little run down as compared with the newer Hotel side, still not bad.

Rip Off #2;The way we bought it was we have thirteen weeks to use at our descretion. We can use up to four weeks a year and have untill 2026 to use the thirteen weeks.Maintenance fees are due when reservation of the weekis made, payable in full. There is no maintenance fee due unless a week has been reserved, that is how it's worked since 2001. In Nov. of 2010 I received a collection letter from Concord ServicingCorp. stating that they we're retained by Hotelera Chicome, S.A. DE C.V. to assit in resolving my account.

According to them the agreement never stated in writing that the maintenance fee was due only upon reservation, they are trying to collect fromtwo previous years even though no week was reserved.Concord Servicing Corp. insists that the money is owed and has added penalty and intrest. The calls are harrassing and frequent, I'm looking for others who may have found themselves in a similiar situation. I want this matter to be resolved and honestly I want the remaining weeks owed to us.
