NME or SDP uses PAT HAINES "come on" to get you to call in for entry to a sweepstakes, It may be 2 years from now that the drawing is held. The mailer MAKES you think you have WON and that they are anxsiously trying to reach you. Its a SCAM!
When you call in, you ARE entered and screened for a credit or debit card. Then you are browbeat until you buy or hang up, or accept been sent to one of several "other" opportunities.
The process has several goals;
1) Sell you magazine subscriptions
2) Garbner demographic info like you telephone number
3) Verify whether you have a valid credit card/debit card.
I'm sure these names are sold in the market place.
The PROBLEM occurs because if you tell an agent from the beginning, YOU DO NOT WANT TO BUY ANYTHING, we totally disregard that. It's our JOB to disregard it. If you tell me your legally blind. NO MATTER, sell, sell, sell!
Don't read magazines. Sell, sell, sell!
Dead or dying. Sell, sell, sell!
Have dementia, but have a credit card. SELL SELL SELL!
The companies rules exist not to protect the consumer, but to protect the compny itself. They take great pains to nitpick stupid stuff, but the MANTRA is 3 REBUTTALS. Make the say NO 3 times.
We do not sell to the state of FL, which gives them some protect, but htere ARE complaints about the company at the State Atttorney Generals Office and they will or are investigating. If you are not in FLorida, you should call the State ATTY General and complain that you feel like you have been duped, sucked in or whatever happened to you. I think its unethical to get you to call about a SWEEPSTAKES, and EVERYONE get select to receive the REAL DIAMOND WATCH just for trying the Readers Exchange Program. That's were you get to buy 3 magazines.
This COULD be a decent DEAL IF and ONLY IF you REALLLLY wanted some magazines, and NOT for 4-5 years. The fast double talk leaves people thinking they pay $50 and they are done and they are, until NEXT month, and NEXT month & and NEXT MONTH!

At last! A voice of reason! It is terrible that these 'companies' are allowed to prey off of the ignorance of others. Yea, I know that people need to take responsibility for themselves, but, these snakes do not play by normal rules!
For example, why should my 'ups' convergence go down because some loser calling in does not have a credit card?
This callers represent what happens when you drag a $100 bill through a trailer park! This 'company' is soliciting it's 'wonderful service' (chris), to unsuspecting recipients. Hey corporate, if the offer is so good, why do we have to trick them into buying into the scheme?
When I get fired from this group of thugs two things will happen. First, the I.Q. of the 'company' will go down. Second, I can attempt to cleanse my conscience after upsetting and hurting so many of my fellow americans.
Thanks 'R' keep fighting the good fight! You're not alone! Those with a big enough pair will fight with you. This 'company' stinks on ice!
