I am an equine professional. My heavy duty full ton dually diesel truck is part and parcel of my livelihood. I preserve it with routine maintenance religiously. My custom heavy duty transmission was just 15 months old with 41,000 miles on it, and it was performing flawlessly. My transmission fluid was bright cherry red, with no carbon or metal filings in it, and no other indications of impending failure. I took my truck into NTB Hutto TX to have routine maintenance done, including 15 point brake inspection, replace rotors, replace heavy duty full ceramic brake pads, and flush the custom heavy duty transmission, and other fluids as necessary.

NTB charged me for heavy duty full ceramic brake pads but admitted to using semi-metallic brake pads that are completely unsuitable to the heavy duty nature of the work this truck does. They did not check the calipers or flush the brake fluid. They did not see any carbon or metal filings in the transmission fluid. The very next time I drove the truck, only 48 hours later, hauling my brand new custom trailer ($58,000) and my horses ($100,000+), the calipers locked, catching the rotors and the semi-metallic brake pads on fire, and toasting my transmission like a marshmallow.

Limped truck, trailer and horses into NTB Round Rock TX to have repairs made under warranty. I had to camp out in their parking lot with my horses for two days while they made repairs to the brakes. They admitted that the loss of transmission was also their fault and responsibility, but they are unable to repair it. They turned the truck over to their insurance company, Gallagher Bassett. 

Gallagher Bassett took over a month to process my claim. When they finally responded, they completely refused to take responsibility and make restitution for what NTB openly admits was their fault. That NTB was directly responsible for the loss of transmission was verified by two independent certified mechanics as well.

I have had to turn this matter over to the BBB, the Texas State Attorney General, and an attorney to pursue full legal remedies. NTB is completely unresponsive.

I am now out:
$547 for the work originally done by NTB
$363 insurance necessary to rent a truck
$2700+ for a rental truck
$3600+ for a new transmission and attorneys fees.
