Region 4 has created a system of harassment and abuse toward all teachers. Teachers are often insulted and humiliated by their superiors without cause. Many teachers have quit and many more intend to do so. This must stop now!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wake up, Louise

AUTHOR: Sam - (U.S.A.)

As a former employee of Newtown High School, I would like to address the comments of Louise from Jackson Heights. Although she is correct in her criticisms of the condition of the school, the ineptitude of the principal and of some of the teachers, and I stress SOME, she is part of the group that bears the greatest blame of all, the parents. How many open school sessions has she attended? How many politicians has she complained to about the conditions of the school, i.e. class size, damages? Does she even vote? How many PTA meetings has she attended? If she doesn't have an acceptable answer for each of these questions then she should get off of her fat ass and act. The teachers have no power over the conditions of the school. They are the lowest paid, lowest respected and least appreciated people in that building. They do the most work and are heard the least. The custodians even make more money than they do. The school is full of "students" who are in high school and cannot function on an elementary school level. Is this teachers fault? Where the hell were their parents when they couldn't read as children? Where are their parents after school when their kids are in the street instead of home doing homework? Don't have children you can't be responsible for. If some of these kids actually had parents that gave a damn the school wouldn't be in the condition it's in. If Louise has a gripe with anyone, it should be the high school she attended since she can't write to save her life. At least the teachers who can't speak English have to pass a written exam to get the job. An exam she would have failed.

Grow UP

AUTHOR: Miranda - (U.S.A.)

I feel the schools need to step up to the plate and the staff including teachers, principals, deans, etc. need to get control of their schools and realize the children they are supposely teaching are our future. Get the gangs, drugs out of the schools, stop looking the other way when things happen. What are safety officers for in high schools when some become buddies with the bad kids instead of controlling what is going on.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

what about how the students are treated???

AUTHOR: Louise - (U.S.A.)

I have dealt with Region 4 and they were wonderful. Most of what I see from the teachers is that they defended each other like a code though the teacher was in fauclt. Stop whining and get over it. We need teachers in the schools that take control of the class not students taken over, we need teachers who speak CLEAR ENGLISH and can teach. Hell if I worked with the board of ed I would be screaming at the teachers, deans, staff and say GET OFF YOUR FAT ASS AND DO THE JOB THAT OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE PAYING YOU FOR. If they are harrassing you good now you people see what you do to our kids. I say good riddance to the crybabies.
