Example= Alterntor at National around $600.00 installed. The same at other shops average for same vehical $300.00. Although they offer a $12.95 oil change at times, that is to get you in door. If you are not wanting anything other than the oil change you are considered and it is noted in their computer that you are not a customer and the next time you come in they will give you some excuse such as, sorry we have a full appointment for the rest of the week.
As far as Tech.(mech) most are some of the best and provide excellant work. For the tech to make money he has to find as many possible things wrong with your car. Not stating that National is a rip off company but you must consider that 4.2 over cost of parts is excessive. Their labor rate is quit compariable to Dealers. Their parts they get for your car is a lot of times from> Autozone, Ace, Advance auto parts, so as you see they are not of quality parts as from dealers or NAPA stores. Example= starter at Autozone cost them $100. Your bill= starter $420.00 + $150.00 + shop cost supplies around $20.00 so now you pay $590.00. Guess you wandering how I know this.
Well I worked as a Mech for over 36 years. I worked for National for 11 months as a Tow Truck driver. My job, was to try to bring any/all cars back to shop (national).Why? cause if they could sell you over $100 then I would get $20.00. Humm you say. Me too. I had a lot of issues with them about overcharging people and as I call it RIPPING then off. I have seen computers put into cars that did not need it because,not the Tech, but because the Mangement felt to compell to.
I suggest that if you go to a National Auto Service Center that you highly get quoates from other repair shops before you have them to do your work. You will proberly save a LOT of money and unnessary parts. A fair price is fair,but 4.2 over cost plus labor?? and targeting the elderly? I was a honest Mech for over 37 years!! I can not and will not work for companys like these.

As I said my name is Harry and you can find me at one of the shops almost every day. Please feel free to call or stop by and ask for me and ask me for yourself should you have any doubts.
I would further add it seems a shame that as a new business owner I must defend myself for something I didnt do. Ripoff report should take this posting off. It is punishing me for somthing I didnt do!!!!!! Should there be any question I can prove the ownership change as of 09/26/08 or you can go to www.sunbiz.org and look up national auto service center pasco inc. and you can see for yourself this is public information.
