After getting the run around National Electronics Warranty, LLC claim their warranty does not go into affect until after the manufacturer warranty runs out. The manufacturer does not warranty the frame therefor it ran out the day I purchased it! National Electronics Warranty, LLC says no. Their warranty starts 1 year after the purchase date. Since the frame bent during the first year it is not covered therefor I will have to purchase a new frame. She also stated that she has noted my account so if I call back in 6 months it will be treated as a preexisting condition and will not be covered then either. What a ripoff!!!!!!! Walmart.com advertises this warranty as "Get long-term peace of mind for your new purchase with a Walmart Bike and Scooter Product Protection Plan". That could not be further from the truth. Now my son is out of a bike.

Dear Consumers: These plans are INTENDED to deceive

You paid for 1 additional year, replacement by gift card, for any unintentional failures of the bike. The 1 year typically starts after the full mfr warranty ends; in this case it was the beginning of year 2. Most of these plans are geared for electronics, where there is a clear 1 year mfr warranty.
Do you know that most bike frame warranties are 5 years or lifetime? Hence, NEW never expects to have frame issues (how often does one expect a frame to "fail" anyhow.) Plus, these "replacement plans" do NOT, as a matter of contract terms and conditions, cover physical damage; only mechanical, electrical or electronic failure. Of course it's confusing.
The fact that you got satisfaction is purely a function of your POST here. Otherwise, you would have gotten the infinite runaround.
Peace of mind is achieved by NEVER purchasing an extended plan of any kind. In this case, you may well have gotten satisfaction from the mfr or Walmart.

The frame was bent from riding the bike over jumps not from a car. It's a lightweight aluminum frame which is why I was sure to purchase the warranty.

What does your WRITTEN warranty say about this...you have read it...right?
It makes NO difference what you're told, but the WRITTEN warranty spells it all out for you.
Probably not a Ripoff.
BTW, how did the frame get bent? Possibly when you backed the car over it?
