My husband and I started planning our move from Shreveport, LA to Caldwell, WV over the phone with National Express over a month before our move date. I spoke to both Sandra and Jena about the amount we were moving, and even over estimated the amount of boxes she requested was typical. We were quoted $1,800 with a move date of July 15th.

When the movers arrived two days after our move date, we had reduced our items to be moved, and we were told by Andrew, the truck driver, that our move would most likely end up being less than the original $1,800 quoted. Once we'd payed the 60% down in cash and after the truck was already loaded with all of our things, we were told it would be an additional $600 because of cubic feet differences. Andrew told my husband we'd taking up 750 total cubc feet; while telling me that we had a total of 150 cubic feet. On our contract (that we had to sign before the additional cubic feet box was filled in) Andrew wrote that we had gone 600 cubic feet over our estimated 700 cubic feet. With all the confusion, we figured it would be best to talk to his supervisor, Adam. We attempted to call Adam numerous times that same day and did not hear back from him until 2 days later. At that time, Adam started the conversation saying that he would "give no discount" and we were "locked into a contract and there was nothing you could do about it". I asked Adam if we could move our stuff from the truck at the office in Atlanta, GA, and was told that I would be charged $400 to cancel our move and have access to our things.

The truck was suppose to arrive in West Virginia Thursday, July 19th. On Friday, Adam called to say the truck wouldn't be in West Virginia until Monday. Today (the Monday we were suppose to have our things), we called the office to check on the arrival time; we were told that the truck wouln't be there until Thursday. Adam said we misunderstood our contract, and that all of the dates were estimated. Also, he added once again that we were locked into the contract.

In addition to the poor service and insane increase in price; I have personally never experinced dealing with such a rude, arrogant, and uncivil manager and company. I was screamed at, hung up on, and taken advantage of. I will be contacting the better buisness bureau. I recommend that you do not trust your valuables and money with this company. It is a scam!

I am so far from mistaken

Dear Mike,

I actually just found my receipt from using Nation Express INC today.  If you'd like I can find a way to make the picture public, or you can just stop lying.  I wasn't going to update on how the rest of the move turned out because I was honestly sick of thinking about it, but now that you've brought up the fact that you think I am mistaken... I will.

Once National Express got wind that I posted to Rip Off Report, they called to tell my husband and I that they would not be delivering our belongings.  This was AFTER we had already waited 14 days for our things from Louisiana to arrive in West Virginia.  We were literally sleeping on the floor in our new apartment in West Virginia with NOTHING!  Everyday they would call and say, "I don't know for sure, but we should be there tomorrow."  Once National Express called to say they would not be delivering our things due to our ripoff report, and that if we wanted it we would be responsible for picking everything up in Atlanta, GA... we contacted a lawyer.  Turns out, if you call the cops, pay for an attorney, and mail a cease and desist letter National Express becomes very timely in their delivery.

FYI:  You have to file a police report and contact an attorney in the state in which the pickup was made, not where it is being delivered.

Again, I beg you, Do not use this company.  I still get sick to my stomach when I think about our experience with them.

I used the company for a move from Mobile, AL to Atlanta, GA, I was quoted based on my inventory list quote was $1258. The staff was amazing! my driver at pick was mike, nice not pushy at all!... deliver was the next day, mike even packed my T.V. for free cause I forgot to  ask for a box . I did have more items (dresser, couple of end tables). They only charged me $137.

Over all I liked using the company. Sorry you had such bad move, but everyone in the office was so nice and helpful.
