Where do I start. Ripoff is not the word. I have a 3 year old son to support and I thought that this was a good way of staying home with him and bringing income into the household. I was wrong. The sad thing about this company is they do not even know what the hell they are doing. They are clueless. Kenneth Opstein ( the chairman) wrote me a letter telling me he was sorry for my checks being short. He stated that he is unsure of alot of things going on at NHCD. He is the President of the company and he has no clue what is going on.
I worked hard for 15 weeks at this company. And I know 15 weeks does not sound like much to some of you, but when you are working 40 hours a week, getting 20 dollar checks, it starts to wear you down quick. The worst was dialing numbers for Leads. I dreaded doing that everyday, but I told myself that If I worked longer for this company and got the hang of it then I would be geting better checks. Of course that never happened. I worked in Lead Generation, Recruiting, and NBB. All 3 jobs sucked. In 15 weeks, I made a grand total of $206.00. I wanted this job to work for me so badly, but in the end, I found out it was a scam. Anyone who worked for this company knows what I am talking about.
NHCD does these bonuses everyday. Even if it is a $15.00 bonus, you pray that it will be added to your check. If you or anyone you know is going to try to work for this company, I pray you will read all these reports first. I read a report of a lady saying she was unsure about how she was going to feed her child because she needed a job and she sent off the 74.00 fee, if a company does not care that a mother and child go hungry and all they are worried about is getting their money, then that is a hint that they do not give a damn about anything but money.
In my opinion this company needs to be shut down. I am talking about heading up a Class Action Lawsuit. If anyone wants to join me, my name and email address is provided.

I have been sitting here for a while reading all of the posts and i also put mine in. I am not just an ex employee but i am also an ex manager of NHCD and would be more than happy to help you with the filing of the law suit. I worked for NHCD from sept 04 till feb 05 and I regret every moment of it. I quit a job making 8.50 an hour plus bonuses as a wireless tech support agent to work for nhcd. as a military wife who also runs animal rescue and so forth and home schooling myself for college i thought this would be awesome. My husband gets sent off alot and the animals need me so i said awesome woohoo and i quit my job and worked from home and in the 5 months i worked for nhcd i learned i made just a lil over 500 bucks TOTAL.
I was coached and taught to lie to my employees and the people i hired. I have worked in all of the departments in NHCD i have sold both their dental and prescription plans i have been a recruiter and a lead generator and a leads manager as well. When i realized not only how bad i had been lied to but WORSE that i had to lie to my employees, mothers and fathers and disabled people i said NO WAY and quit.
i would love to help you so very much and ill be in contact with you if you dont mind ill give you a call tomorrow some time.

Hi, sounds like a few of you went through with them what I did. I was also "employed" with them from 08-04 to 10-04. Started as independent contractor switched to employee. Worked anywhere from 4-10 hours per day. Anyone in recruiting would know. New hires call you at home and email you all hours of the day and night with questions. Between that and posting ads there is no telling how many hours you actually work. I made about $1.00 per hour until I had had enough. I started reading up on labor laws. It is illegal to let an "employee" work off the clock. (Posting ads, dealing with new hires, etc). Also to tell a recruiter to only log 2 hrs when they may have worked 8 is crazy. Again, no way to predict how many call backs and questions you will have.
Anyway, I quit. Smartest move I ever made. And after they sent me my final check which was about a 10th of what the owed me (or less) I decided to do something. I will tell you it took lots of calls. You cant call the labor board for your state but if you call the US Dept of Labor they will help you. They made me come up with an hours estimate. I allowed myself 1.5 hours per hire and 15 min per ad placed. (which was hundreds) I submitted to them and they got me my money. I also gave them alot of info on what goes on with this "company" (whatever) and was advised they are scamming employees and elderly. I was advised by labor board to file another complaint with the US Dept of Commerce. They handle scams. I did this and have been advised it is being investigated. I, however, believe, more voices are better. If we could get as many people as possible to report this joke of a company to people who count maybe we could make a difference.

I CURRENTLY WORK FOR NHCD AND I WASNT MAKING THAT MUCH AT FIRST BUT NOW I AM AND I KNOW IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS I WILL MAKE MORE.I KNOW DOING THE TELEMARKETING HIS HARD AND BELIEVE ME I HATED IT BOUT ONCE YOU GET PAST THAT POINT ITS NOT BAD. I DO RECRUITING , I WORK LESS THAN 4 HOURS A DAY AND GET LIKE 3 OR 4 HIRES A DAY WHICH IS ABOUT $7 PER HOUR. AND I KNOW PEOPLE WHO ARE SATISFIED IN THE LEADS DEPARTMENT. AS MUCH AS I HATE IT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAPPY TELEMARKETING MAKING $50 A DAY. I'M SORRY THAT YOU DIDNT HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. AND MAYBE THEY ARE A RIP OFF BUT FOR NOW THEY I LIKE THE COMPANY AND BELIEVE ME, IF I GET PISSED OFF WITH THEM I WILL LET YOU KNOW.

Your e-mail address is not supplied in your report, but I will call you hopefully later on today... I didn't know how to go about filing a class action law suit, but I'm behind you 100%. Hopefull we will see lots more responding to your report or contacting you by phone. This scam of a company needs to be shut down forever.
Our government should be protecting us from this scam which is higher than all NHCD'S Legal Counsel.NHCD thinks they are above the law. We need to show them once and for all that all the ex-employees are more powerful than their legal counsel.I don't know how the Managers sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror.Most of them are parents too. It's beyond me. All our time on the phone, server time, etc. I figured out comes to less than $1.00 per hour, if that much! All the rediculous "Mandatory Meetings", script changes 3-4 times a day, etc. I can go on and on.Only people who worked for this company knows what we are talking about.Before this gets too long I will end it here and will contact you later today.
