SEO Reputation Management at its best!

Basically, a couple of month's ago, I purchased John Pearce's new software, SEO Breakthrough, through the initial webinar launch for three payments of $147 ($441) plus $17 per month service fee. Then I ran into a bunch of problems.

  1. The training for the software was not very good and therefore made the software hard to use.
  2. They had a problem with their hosting provider and so nobody could access the software for a while.
  3. By the time the software was up and working again, my second payment was due.

When my second payment became due, I told them about the problems and they agreed to give me access for a few more days to try the software. However, as most SEO people know, while it's usually possible to try software over a few days, it takes months to see if the software actually achieves results.

Well, even with the few extra days, I couldn't really put the software through it's paces. [continued below]....

..... Nevertheless, they wanted me to pay the second payment of $147. I did not really trust that their software would work and, because they said that they did not have a money back guarantee, I didn't want to invest another $147. I told them that I felt that I would be throwing good money after bad if there was no guarantee.

BTW, they are the only company I have ever dealt with that doesn't offer a money back guarantee. They claim that it's because of the cost of running the software which is bullshit because they charge a monthly fee.

Unfortunately, this whole process took more than 45 days so I have no recourse through Paypal to get my money back. I'm just posting this to help other people avoid the same problems. And I'm not sure that they weren't purposely stalling. Plus, maybe they'll read this and do the right thing.

John Pearce has made things right by offering me two great options

So, let me just say that through this whole back and forth process, John has acted in a professional manner. I appreciate that because so many business owners act like complete jerks when there customers complain. I know that it's tough to keep one's composure when both sides feel their right.

And I'm very happy that John presented me with two great options to settle this problem:

  1. A full refund of the initial payment that I made.
  2. Lifetime access to the software for the amount that I first paid plus the monthly mainenance fee. I was on a payment plan, so this is a very valuable offer.

I was very tempted to take option number two because I think it would be very valuable for a person in SEO. However, I'm just not interested in doing SEO anymore... I'm just tired of it.

Finally, option #2 really put John over the top customer service-wise because, in my mind, option #1 was enough to clean the slate. For that reason, I would consider buying future products from John.

I sent a copy of the report to the software creator and he agreed to work things out. I will post an update as soon as he has refunded my money or does not agree to do so.
