Since October of 2004, I have been in contact with NILICO (AKA's) National Income, National Income Life Insurance Comany, Local 435, the same union I belong to.

I got a letter from Bob Brown our Local 435 union Business manager explaing that we were entitled for some new no-cost union benefits. My union brother had his dropped off and while these scammers were there they demanded food for the union food bank that they promised would be distributed to laid off workers when they needed it the most. He gave them a whole bag of groceries and signed up for extra at cost benefits that run close to $60 per month. I called the same union rep to see why family had not received ours. My brother also gave him (Mike Nowak) my name and address and phone number as he promised he would get my benefits for my family as well.

They promised a Turkey for Thanksgiving and again for Christmas after never dropping off the insurance benefits or food from the food bank. I also wrote my union business manager twice with proof of what is going on with these scammers. He told me there is no food bank and the insurance sales man left his selling manual in the house that talks abouy the whole sales pitch with pictures of the food bank. I got laid off this yesr early and asked for some of the food. They promised yes but never delivered. I called the local NILICO at (585) 292-9610 several times asking for Mr. Nowak to drop my benefits off. The secretary said he lives 15 minutes from my residence and that will be no problem. I left at least a dozen such messages with the secretary and also asked to talk to the supervisor ( Durhon Oldham). She promised and promised and I got nothing.

Only one return call from a secretary who again promised to deliver the benefits due me and our family. The letter from my union stated that NYS Law required them to deliver my benefits and have me designate my beneficiaries. My union brother collected twice on his supplemental policy $200 each time he or his children had an accident. When I asked the secretary about why I can't get the same union benefit she explained they lost too much money on it and dropped it. They quit selling it in December and raised the price on the new policy that pays nothing unless you have to be hospitalized over night or die to collect a penny. Not for stiches, gog bites, broken bones, eye flushes, NOTHING!

When I visited my brothers house to look at his family care plan I noticed these liars actually sold him 2 policies not 1 as he was told. One is Whole life (13,000) just on him for a rediculously high cost per thousand funeral benefit and the other was a good accident policy that only costs $11.51 per month, that one only covered his whole family. He could drop the whole life and keep the accident policy and save over $40 per month and still get the accident benefits on the whole family. With the $40+ per month savings he can buy $250,000 20 year term on him and his wife, instead of the $13,000 whole life policy he got tricked into buying. I asked the secretary if I could only buy the accident policy and she said no, it was illegal. then why isn't it illegal to buy both and cancel one?

I want everyone to know that Newc*mbers burys and cremates people for about a tenth of the cost these liars are talking about. My business manager and the NYS Department of Insurance, and local TV are all investigating this now. If anyone else has fallen victim to this scam, report it here and to your state Insurance Department and the head of your union who signed the come on letter.My business manager has vowed to notify all of unions, Carpenters, Electrical workers, UAW, etc. if they don't recify these problems. He said he never would have signed the renewal letter if he knew they took away the best parts of the program while raising the prices at the same time.

Don't ask for our food and not pass it out as needed and promised. I think all unions should be notified that their were drastic changes in the benefits that only help the Local 277, not the Union workers like you and me. If you bought a policy ask a real Insurance agent to explain it to you for free, they usually will and will shock you with what they can do for less money and much more benefits. Don't be a fool, if it sounds to good to be true it is!
