The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Jason Ferrone during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward National Tax Experts.
National Tax Experts is a tax consulting agency that help people through various tax issues, "our basic vision is resolution. Resolving tax issues in a rapid manner. As you may or may not know, dealing with the IRS can be kind of lengthy. We are just trying to cut that time as much as we can. We do tax preparation through audit reconsiderations, we do offer a compromise, which is basically, you offer a sum of money to the IRS to wipe out the debt in exchange for that. It is all tax related, we have an tax accounting team, booking team, and attorney enrolled agents who basically are here in the office to do that sort of work."
The client base for National Tax Experts is based both off of web based inquiries as well as public record, "when a client falls behind on their tax issue, it becomes public record. The IRS releases these names, and through different companies that sell these sort of lists, we purchase our leads through them." Mr. Ferrone went on to explain the typical experience a potential customer night receive with their buisness, "from the minute they come on board...we try to make the best estimate possible so that were bringing on people that actually do qualify for this service. We go through their finances, and we try to get as many questions answered with regards to their financial picture prior to bringing them onboard. Once we've determined through our software that their a candidate, or there might be a bit of a grey area that we might be able to go with. Then we will determine the fee, and we send out power of attorney and a contract. They get that back to us and we initiate conversation with the state the IRS whether they paid us in full or they only paid us one of a multi payment plan. So that’s the initial steps." During the onsite interview, Jason Ferrone was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Ferrone explained that anytime you are working with something as important and varying as taxes you are bound to run into issues. Mr. Ferrone believes that most of these issues arise from lack of communication, "we have had some clients who might have felt that they were eligible to have a lot more wiped out of their debt...some of that stuff gets lost in communication I think in the initial interview." He then went on to give an example of a more common complaint against National Tax Experts, "we have different types of complaints...it can take a long time to submit your offer and compromise. The other sort of complaint is 'Oh, I haven’t heard from you guys in six months', but the IRS is actively reviewing it. It can take the IRS five months. They’ll send out letter in the mail to them. That is one complaint we do get." When asked if there was any type of follow-up after a complaint is made know Mr. Ferrone explained that a severance agreement is issued, however no follow-up is made after the agreement is signed.
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Ferrone described the care and attention to detail that their contracts involve, as most complaints were directed toward a breach of contract, "our contract is to represent people with their tax debt. We get on board with the state, we get onboard with the IRS, and in some cases the EDD, whatever tax boards are out there that are chasing our clients down. We try our best to get onboard with them as quickly as we can and we always had good results, as well as unhappy people sometimes. For the most part we’ve had good results, we have a track record to prove it. I think last year we have over 12 no 14 million dollars saved for some of our clients. If that’s not a measurement of us being able to do stuff and stay within our contract, then I don’t know what is. We have enrolled agents and attorneys that have licenses on the line, they don’t want to lose their livelihood so that’s why we stay within our guidelines. We have people with a lot to lose." Mr. Ferrone went on to further assure future clients by stating that each employee who prepares taxes for clients has obtained a CTEC license (California Tax Education Certification). As a rebuttal for the complaints on Rippoff Report's website Mr. Ferrone stated, "if you are having a tough time, we are more than willing to refund any type of money that has been paid to us if you don’t feel like we're not doing our job. Our reimbursement process has been very good."
When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the customer per the request of Ripoff Report, Mr. Ferrone stated that they have focused more of their customer service practices on the explanation of services, "being proactive with our outbound communication especially in the first few months. We are trying to open those lines up whether it’s written, e-mail, or voicemail."

In accordance with the Ripoff Report VIP Arbitration Rules (the “Rules”) the Arbitrator was asked to decide whether each of the challenged Statements is an opinion or a statement of fact. If, and only if, the Statement is determined to be a statement of fact, the Arbitrator was asked to go further and decide if, by a preponderance of the evidence, the statement is true of not.
Each Statement challenged by the Complainant has been considered, together with any Witness Statements and Documents provided by the Complainant for the determination of the truth or falsity of the Statement.
In this case, the Arbitrator was has only the evidence submitted by the Complainant to consider. The evidence submitted included several Witness Statements, along with two different Articles of Incorporation showing that the Complainant is the Owner of National Tax Experts and IRS Tax Doctors.
The Arbitrator determined that certain Statements in the challenged Report were false. Therefore, according to the Rules, those statements have been redacted.
