Just got done refinancing my home to lower my payment and recieved a letter in the mail that looked like it was associated with the lender. I did a little research online and their website looked professional. They also had two video clips from CBS and Oprah. So I called and they ran went over some numbers and mentioned a $3.50 fee every month for using their service. Not once did they mention a cancelation fee or any other fee for that matter. They said they needed to recieve the first full month mortgage payment before the payment was do and then they will take out half the payment every two weeks after. Usually when you make your mortgage payment you recieve and email or some sort of receipt. My payment was do the 1st and I had till the 15th before I get charged a late fee. By the 6th I called my mortgage company to see if they recieved the payment. They didn't so I called Interest Minimizer and they said its processing and to wait over the weekened and call my mortgage company again on monday to see if they recieved it. I waited intil the 12th and called my mortgage company and they said they still havent received it. I called this company back and told them my mortgage company still havent received the payment. They said they sent it and told me not to worry. I was sceptical so I told them I want my money refunded and I would just make the payment myself. They said Ok and transfered me to someone else. The new customer service representative told me that it takes around a week to refund my money and that there was a $800 enrollment fee for signing up with the service which was never disclosed or mentioned anywhere or anytime on the electronic application or in our phone conversations. I asked them where it said that and he mentions line xxx on page 2 with some wording that never specified a number. He said he would give me a 50% discount since I never used the service. I told him I can't afford $400 dollars and how I support a family of 4 and I live paycheck to paycheck. He then said he will talk to his supervisor and after 10mins being on hold he said his supervisor will let it go for 75% so i was out $199.00. I felt like I was being ripped off but there was nothing I could do, so I agreed just to get the rest of my money back so I can make my mortgage payment. I tried to look up any mention of this fee on there website and letter but there is no mention of a fee. Even under the part where it says about discontinuing there service, it has no mention of this fee. I hope someone sues them because this company is really misleading, especially for people who are financially struggling and cant afford to be ripped off.
