Nationwide Insurance Company They denied my auto claim Portland Oregon

I was involved in a single auto accident in October 2007. I had just purchased my newer BMW 1999 323i with 20,000 original miles. It was the car I'd dreamed of and I'd waited for for years. I paid cash in the sum of 14,500. late one night I went to check on a friend who was stricken with cancer. I live in Oregon and It was a very rainy night. At around 60 mph on the freeway I hydroplaned and lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the cement wall. When I came to I crawled out of the car and shortly and ambulance came to pick me up and take me to the hospital. I suffered a broken collar bone , head trauma with vertigo, a sprained neck and back.
when I was released from hospital, I contacted my insurance group Nationwide and reported the accident.

They informed me that my coverage had been cancelled. I was devastaded. I never recieved a policy statement. This was a newer policy with full coverage I had paid for at the end of August (Appx. aug 28 or 29 2007) I paid in the amount of 240.00. I thought I was covered through october. They informed me that they had wrong address. My Ex- spouses address He had recently moved from. He never recieved any policy either. We had both been insured with nationwide for years prior to this new policy . The local office however has had my address on file which has not changed in 10 years. When I asked to have it reinstated, they denied it. It had only been 13 days since cancellation that I was not aware of because I never recieved the renewal. After countless conversations and frustration I took my case to the state of Oregon. They were on Nationwides side as well because they did not help me either. Going up against a insurance company is like dealing with the devil. I am now physically injured for life as well as out 50,000 in loss of car and medical bills. I am a single mother. No one can help me. I just wanted to say in closing that "NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE"
