I began automobile insurance coverage with Nationwide, July 24, 2008 as I relocated to Georgia, and had current insurance coverage with a different company. I was quoted the premium amount for six months. Made the first payment at that time, paid remaining balance for the next 5 months IN FULL, with coverage to mid-January 2009.

Received first cancellation notice September 18, 2008 due to no proof of previous insurance, which I gave them at the time. Was told that information crossed in the mail form the local office to the corporate office (2months later-I don't think so), and was advised to "disregard the notice".

October 7, 2008, another cancellation notice for nonpayment. Again, told to "disregard the notice." Again, crossed in the mail, (whatever!).

Then I received a notice from the company I finance my car through, informing me that they had received the cancellation notice from the insurance company and gave me names of alternative companies, of course with a higher rate! As of today, November 19, 2008, I received Notice of Pending Registration Suspension or Revocation from the Georgia DOR!

So now, after driving for 40 years, with a current clean driving record and making monthly payments for years with a different company, and absolutely no previous cancellations, NATIONWIDE has managed to wreck my ability to apply with a different insurance company with the probability of being penalized, forcing higher premiums! All this in four months' time.

The sad thing is, that after I did the math of the premium, turns out Nationwide owed me 47 cents!

I feel they need to do something expedicously, including reimbursement of all the long distance phone calls I've had to make, not to mention the stress I've had to deal with and the damage they've done regarding my driving record!

What is wrong with this company?! FYI, I have records and the names of people who I've spoken with, so Nationwide, don't try to side step the serious issue here!
