Yep, I was also "ran into a scam offered on CNN website" just as all the rest. Same scenario. I thought I was purchasing a teeth whitening product and WITHIN MINUTES of paying for the order I was contacted by a Natural Source Store representative thanking me for the order. She then offered me additional promotions including Free $50 Walmart gift card(s) if I subscribed to other trial offers. Although I was very adamant about the "trail", she continued pressing the issue with the "it's a Free $50 gift card" and told me I could cancel the subscription immediately after I received the card. Eventually, due to her persistence, I had to hang up on her! I guess she didn't pass my lack of interest on because the next day I received another call with the same BS. "I don't understand why you wouldn't want this, it's a Free $50 gift card and you can cancel at anytime!?". Once again, I had to hang up on her. Then, a couple days later I got the $79.95 charged twice on my credit card. I noticed it on a Saturday, Dec 12, but since they're not open, I had to wait until 12/14 to call them. I will say though, that after the 10 minute waiting of On-Hold messaging and "high call volume" I was greeted my a representative that quickly apologized for the charge and told me that the charges would be reversed within about 7 days. Coincidentally, I received a $1 charge on my credit card on Dec 14. I didn't really think anything of it since I thought it was for the whitener but because I hadn't received my credit as of today, Dec 23, I had to call them again! This time, the call wasn't very nice. This gentlemen (and I use the term very loosely) was very abrupt with me and told me that I had authorized all these charges, I that my refund is still being processed but only because they hadn't shipped out anything yet. He then went on with the "you obviously gave us your credit card number and authorized the charges because here's your credit card number" along with phone number and everything else that I DID give them. I told him that there's "no way in hell" I would have authorized these two charges for toothpaste! He says...."No way in hell, huh? Well you did and I have your credit card information to prove it". From there all I wanted to know was when I was getting the charges reversed. He said it could take "months". So...I Hung Up and drove straight to the bank and had to file 2 Credit Card Dispute Forms.
