I was visited by the president of the company, Vahe early last year for a meeting about rewards cards for our customers. I read over the contract as best as possible, the text was seriously mice font like another person referred. In the contract, it was apparent to me that it was for 4 yrs, quite ridiculous, i know. We decided to move forward with the promise from Vahe that the price would NEVER increase, no matter what. He told me it would be $130 a month, per machine. I have two of these, as i once had 2 stores. So my monthly commitment has been $260 per month.
Well, approx. 9 months into the contract, the monthly fee from NEOS began to increase from $60 per month to $70 per month. After calling in to one of the representatives, they informed me that this price increase was for increases in system maint, personnel, blah blah blah. He then told me that there was a small print on the bottom of my statement that month, indicated the price increase and giving me an opportunity to "opt-out" if i wanted to. I NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE STATEMENT FROM THIS COMPANY, EVER. And of course i wanted to opt out, the program costs far more than it redeems. Of course, i was calling in after seeing the payment clear, which was well after the date that was printed along with the print regarding price hike. And the representative almost enthusiastically told me that i could no longer cancel, would have to pay the monthly rate, or pay an early termination fee. THEN even if i did cancel, i would still be liable for the leasehold of equipment for the next 4 years. Equipment that would be totally useless without the reward program. DON DON DONNNNNNN the plot thickens, i was scammed.
This was all about a year ago. After talking with an attorney friend of mine, he basically asked point blank if it was worth it for me ($10/month) and whether or not i like the program. I said no, and no. So life went on, and these CROOKS kept my measly $10/month.
TODAY, while reconciling my bank statements. I noticed the monthly charge went from $70 to $165. I about hit the roof. After calling in to the company, a representative informed me that this also was notified on my monthly statement, and that it would be $95 recurring annual fee, irregardless, for the rest of my contract......
I just don't see how a company can legally raise prices on you without proper notification. Then only to switch to an online system (without proper notification) then notify on this online system that you were never notified about, that they are going to simply instill an annual charge, of which i never signed to!?!?! Help?! or at least consider yourself warned.
If your customers want a reward program, try another company. The "gold" chip card is CRAP.
