at its best!

The NetSpend company issued thousands of pre-paid cards in conjunction with Turbo Tax this year. When we filed our taxes we had the option of putting the refund on this card. It sounded like it would be a nice way to use the cash - use the card at the store, pay off some bills, great! The problem is that as soon as the cash hit the bank NetSpend blocked the cards citing security. They did not inform us that we would need to send in any documents prior to issuing the cards and accepting the funds from the IRS. I understand security, however not telling people and holding thier money hostage is not in the name of security. It seems more like fraud. When you try to do what they want by sending in mounds of very personal information, it is an endless run around. The staff at the NetSpend call centers are rude, refuse to help (although, that is probably company policy). You never get answers. I have called over and over, been placed on hold for over half an hour and then hung up on. I have sent my documents in and they claim they do not have them and tell you to call back in 48 hours. How long is this going to go on? It is begining to look a lot like theft to me! It has been almost 2 weeks now and they refuse to release my money and so many other peoples as well.
