I purchased an all-access netspend visa from my local von's store to do some online shopping.Once i got home and online to register my card (which was described as simple quick activation,or something along that line) i had many problems activating the card.First i was told(via e-mail) the card was active,however when i went to use it,it was declined as not active.I contacted netspend (via telephone) and was told i needed s.s #,passport#, and valid i.d.,and i was told to fax all this to netspend to verify i was an american and could use the card legally.Well after three or four calls,i finally got someone to actually activate the card(consider i had spent 10 bucks on the card and had loaded it with 300$ i could not access-very frustrating!)without supplying all this "required" information. The card worked well for several purchases until i went to pay for something on e-bay and was told the card had expired(via paypal).After more phone calls, i was told it was blocked because i had been mailed a permanent card(which i never received even though they had my correct address) and for "your safety" it was blocked even though this new card was never activated or attempted to be activated.Once i receive my new card i will use the remainder of my balance and stay as far away from netspend as possible,way to much work considering you are already paying up front and having one hell of a time trying to spend your own money!!!BEWARE NETSPEND-nothing is as stated,nothing is simple,and you will have alot of extra work to use your card!
