I was sent to this "school" to get help, and stay out of trouble. I had no idea it was a religious cult and i would be forced to sing religious songs and read the bible. i got further behind in my education because the staff made you do more work than school. Punnishments for what they consider "bad behavior" were horrible, including open "rebuke", where they could call you a lesbian or fagget or wicked or possessed infront of both girls and boys homes. They have people stay up all night long while you try to sleep, to make sure you wont run away or "touch yourself." They think girls and boys do such things because they are gay, when almost every time the individual is not even doing the accused. It just lowers young teenagers self-esteem, and honestly makes you feel worse about yourself. I believe with all my heart this place is a cult and if you send your child here, they will be severly emotionally and mentally damaged, possibly even physically. If you are looking for help for your child or loved one, please consider my advise, because i have been there. Send the person in need to a place they will really be taken care of and helped. New beginnings ministries is not the place.
