I have been with the same cell phone company for over 12 years. Needless to say after my most recent experience with Nextel, I will no longer be doing business with them. A couple of weeks ago I contact Nextel to inquiry about an all data plan. My current plant was the Family Pack 1400 for $89.99 plus $19.99 for a third phone and $5 for texting for one of my phones. The representative offered the Data Share plan 1400 for $129.99 including direct connect. My new plan was to start on March 15. Needless to say on March 17 I received a shocker of a bill! The $129.99 plan was non-existent. My cell phone bill went from about $130 per mnth w taxes to over $220 per month! Nextel was charging $10 per phone for direct connect plus the $19.99 for the third phone! After all these years of paying them all Nextel could do is put me back on the old plan, not suprisingly since they have one of the worse customer service ratings ever, according to consumer reports.

Nextel needs to stop this unfair business practices. The customer has the right to know every single detail of their billing. I want what they promised, the All Data Share direct connect plan for $129.99 plus taxes. I am letting everyone I know about Nextel, this forum is another way of spreading the word. I know this is a fight I will loose. But I am "disgusted" to say the least with Nextel.

I had a similar problem with Sprint, and I never agree to anything they "promise" over the phone anymore

In my case I was told that if I added 2 more phones to my existing plan - Which I did not need or want - it would reduce my monthly bill. THEY LIED - it did not reduce my bill it doubled my bill!

When I tried to cancel the 2 extra phones I was told I would be charged $200 per phone RE-STOCKING fee. Even though the sales rep on the phone LIED to me.

When I was transferred to the cancellation desk - it was that person who was able to correct the errors made by the sales person. The scam was to get you to add the phones to existing plan - once you agreed - they created entirely new plans for the new phones. She also gave me the impression that the telemarketing group did this regularly.
The lady at the cancellation desk was able to correct that and my bill returned to the normal charges with the extra phones.

THE LIE ABOUT REDUCING MY MONTHLY BILL WAS STILL A LIE. IT DID NOT REDUCE IT ONE PENNY.


Last time Sprint called me - I told THE CALLER not interested in their bait and switch scam and to stop calling me to add services. IF AND WHEN I WAS INTERESTED IN ADDING SERVICES I WOULD CONTACT THEM.
