well first of all I was checking my bank statement and I noticed nextel debeted my account twice for different amounts one amount I had authorized with my credit card and the other I didn't. the other came out of my checking account with a mans name under it and I thought hmmmm.... this name looks familiar but it still didn't dawn on me what was happening so I started reviewing my past bank statements and I noticed that there were more payments that were unauthorized coming out of my checking account for payments belonging to this nextel customer so I called nextel and asked what was going on and they said that they saw where he made the payments from my banking account but if I didn't have his information they couldn't help me and I would have to dispute it with my bank so here I go I call the bank and they tell me to fax a dispute letter to corporate accounts and it would take 24 to 72 hours for the money to be returned to my account well a week and a half or so went by no money and no response. so I called the bank agin and this time they said I had to send the dispute to the fraud department so I did that well they credited the last payment that this guy took out of my bank account because it was less than 60 days but the rest of the payments he made they couldn't help me with because they have a 60 day policy and that I had to call nextel back up to get my money put back in the bank well I call them back and ask to speak to the fraud dept no one was in of course so I had to leave a message they called me back and left a message that they would give me my money back if the bank wouldn't give it to me but only if it was because of the 60 day policy so I thought cool im gonna get my money back so I called the lady back and explained that the reason was the 60 days well she proceeded to tell me that they were not going to refund me my money because the bank didn't go through all of its procedures and I said what????? oh yes they did. explain to me exactly what procedures so any way she couldn't and I said what about the message you left on the answering machine stating you would return the money and she said that now I was going to have to take it back up with my bank these people are driving me crazy and I don't know what to do. ohh and if your wondering why did it go so long unnoticed its because I really don't check my statements and if I do I just look at the balance ill never do that agin that's for sure, and the guy well I met him on a construction job that I did in Oct of 95 he just came from another state and so he asked me if I could do him a favor if he gave me the money to pay his nextel could I pay it for him because he didn't have any thing set up in Georgia yet so I said sure I didn't think any thing of it and deposited the money in my bank and made the payment for him I never thought he would get a hold of my banking information. can someone help me please.
