Ordered a maternity wedding dress 6 weeks before the wedding from www.nicolematernity.com based on the photos on site.  The dress arrived 1 week later and did not look anything like the photo.  I placed a 2nd order for the exact same dress in a size larger, thinking it was the size of the dress that made it not look like the photo.  I sent the first dress back for a refund and received the 2nd dress one week later.  The 2nd dress (which was the exact same dress) was worse than the first.  Again, it looked NOTHING like the online photo.  With the wedding only 2 weeks away, I took the dress to several tailor shops in the area and was quoted double and triple the price to have it altered to look like the dress in the photo.  Several tailors commented about the poor quality of the dress:  mismatched seams, uneven fabric, one side of the dress was even longer than the other.  I contacted www.nicolematernity.com one day after receiving the 2nd dress to let them know that the dress was unacceptable and completely un-wearable.  With less than 2 weeks before my wedding, I also explained there was not time to mess with yet another exchange or return and that I would like to send the dress back (with original tags and shipping materials) for a full refund.   I was informed that, due to their return policy, I would only be given a store credit.  The dress was completely misrepresented and in poor quality.  I was forced to buy a new dress due to time constraints and am now stuck with this horrendous mess.

Change of Management has nothing to do with this complaint

This issue happened in August-September of 2012.  The fact that there was a change in management in 2011 is completely irrelevant to this complaint.  The stress of being pregnant and trying to find a wedding dress was exhausting enough.  Having to fight and untangle what should have been a very straight-forward and easy return (which has gone on for almost six months) has been an excruciating experience.  I STRONGLY URGE anyone who is considering a purchase from this merchant to heed the warning and STAY AWAY.  I have been contacted by several other customers with similar complaints/issues, and who also continue to have nothing but problems.

Nicole Maternity is under new management as of 2011.  It is no longer owned by Adam Schoenbaum or his management group.
