I'm new to Texas. Live in Denton. I was told I had to get a North Texas Tollway Authority tag because I'd use it so much. So I ponied up the $40.
I learned pretty early on that your Fort Worth/Dallas traffic is every bit as bad as LA, where I came from. So I have not used the tag and perhaps never will.
But every month $1.50 is deducted from my balance as a "statement fee." I've had all sorts of credit cards, tags, everything you can think of, but I've never been billed to receive my bill. It is very likely that I will use the entire $40 payment to pay the "statement fee."
Texas should be ashamed.

Stacey STOP ATTACKING PEOPLE who are expressing their FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS! Everyone doesn't see things the way you do and thank God for that! My goodness. No one can express ANY DISPLEASURE with anything out in Texas and what kind of sense does that make? A Great Democracy thrives off of people being able to express their opinions and who believe in Dissent! You are to much of an inbred to know that however.
So Stacey I guess everything in Texas is perfect hunh? And if a person takes exception to anything instead of trying to change it they should all pack their bags and move? What a completely idiotic response from you. You are one of the reasons Texas ranks #1 for ILLITERACY, POVERTY, THE UNINSURED, ETC.
Have you ever thought about why Texas ranks #1 for all those things. I can tell you. Because Texas is neck deep in racism, discrimination of minorities and immigrants, and is ran by a bunch of racist good ol'boy hypocrites!

You do not have to purchase a Toll tag - I don't have one and use the toll but the cost is higher if you have no tag. Contact them and ask about this - If you do not like Texas then MOVE! That applies to P.P. the new Outlaw Josey Wales

Sorry you had to find out that Texas is a state that legalizes outright corporate thievery. The thing is most of the voters in Texas are solidly republican and very well off. They are also racists. Most of them. They hate the poor, the brown, the immigrant, the young, etc. They don't mind giving the shaft to anyone other than the well to do white people.
So they vote all these losers into office who love giving the shaft to everyone else. They are privatizing all of the roads in Texas. Everyone that works outside of Dallas will have to pay money to drive on the roads. This is often $10 or more per day. It's a state that bends over backwards and whores itself out to the highest bidder.
Welcome to Texas.
