Nu Image scanning employees
I worked for Nu Image marketing for well over 6 months & took me this long to see how cheating, manipulative, Fraudulant, & Scamming this company is.
A little background;
This company hires contractors to (fruadulantly) sell Comcast Cable "door to door". Because it is commission based and because you don't get paid for 2-3 weeks after the customers cable gets installed, you will go at least 1 month with no pay. If the customer cancels or gets shut off withinh 3 months, they will take your commission back.
NU IMAGE SOMERVILLE ONLY TRAINS YOU HOW TO FRAUDULANTLY SET UP CABLE SERVICE. Starting from your first day through walking through the door, they send you out with a group of people to stand in a busy street corner/bus stop/train station/supermarket in the ghetto/poor sections of the city and just walk around asking everyone "do you have cable" and (9 times out of 10) the person will say they owe Comcast money and you are trained to tell that person "that's okay, we'll sign you up" Below is a sample NuImage sales script. This script was taught to me by my leader & the branch manager. (N = NuImage & C = Customer)
N - You got cable
C - nah, I owe comcast money
N - That's okay, we will hook you up, anyway
C - How?
N - We will set you up with a fake name, social, and phone number
C - will I get in trouble?
N - No. Comcast trusts us to sign up only legit customers
C - oh, okay? What do you got?
N - cable Internet & phone for 90
C - I only want cable
N - as door to door reps we are only allowed to sell the $90 special.
C - guess ill take it ... I just won't pay the bill
N - okay, what's your address & a phone # I can reach you
C - 1234 Main Street - boston ma - 01234 (555) 555-5555
N - ok. Ill call you later with install date and the name and social I used
The above script is what the branch manager trains you to do. The sales reps were taught by NIM to make up fake names, fake socials, & fake phone numbers.
So, when it comes to calling in the order to comcast, the NIM branch manager told us that we are supposed to tell the call center that "we have collected a cash prepayment" even though noone has mentioned anything about a prepayment before this. When asked about this, his response was "IT'S JUST WHAT WE SAY TO BYPASS THE FULL SS# ON THEIR SYSTEM"
So, that's it.
I guess from the beginning, I was skeptical-but told myself that if that is how we are trained by NIM management & Comcast is okay with it, why not try it. Sure enough, using the NIM sales method, the sales came In ... Pretty quickly too.
All was good - make okay money, the company rewarded us with nights out, trips, parties, etc UNTIL Comcast found what was really going on.
See, what is reps WERE NEVER told is Comcast is NOT cool with the idea and by saying "we collected cash prepayment" is the same as admitting to theft. (Since no money is ever turned in.). Once comcast caught on to nu image, they finally told us what really happened. Comcast allows customers to not provide only The last four digits of their SSN instead of providing the whole SSN As long as the rep collect first months payment So every time an order was placed and we were told to just say we collected cash as a way of bypassing the system, We were actually telling Comcast that we did collect all that cash BUT never turned in it. Made us all look like thieves and we had no idea.
Out of the blue Comcast contacted NIM and told them that their sales reps owe like 12,000 in first month bill payments and comcast would not release funds to NIM until it was all paid. So, in return, NIM told us sales reps to go collect $ from our customers (that never knew try had to pay upfront (cuz us reps did g know either)) or pay it out of pocket. NIM told their reps, if we all cover this one week of prepayments, comcast will not look into any other weeks and let us start over..So, all the sales reps paid the amount due out due out of their own pockets .... BUT THAT WAS YET ANOTHER LIE ...2 weeks later NIM tells its reps that the contractor sales reps will not be paid until all customers accounts were paid in full.
SO NU IMAGE IS WITHHOLDING ALL EMPLOYEES PAYCHECKS FOR JUST DOING WHAT WE TAUGHT TO DO BY THE BRANCH MANAGER AND HIS STAFF ..... We had no idea about prepayments- we were told it was just a work around an old computer system at comcast. Trust me, if we the sales reps knew about this, We would have collected it.
And the best part of all this .... NIM is also threatening to prosecute, criminally, any sales rep who does not remit payment for their customers first month bill. They will file both fraud & theft charges against the reps ... ALL FOR DOING EXACTLY WHAT WAS TAUGHT TO US BY THE BRANCH MANAGER ....
What a f*cking piece of s**t company
