I am a Nucor (NBS) dealer. BEWARE of this company and do your research before you start doing business with them! I have noticed over the last couple of years that their quality, pricing and customer service has gone south and reached new lows.

I am writing this because Nucor Building Systems has completely ruined my company name. They have done this to me because of their constant cuts in quality, craftsmanship and reliability. The last dozen buildings I have done for my customers that I have purchased through them are missing parts (which can sometimes take months to get re-sent by Nucor and usually at my or my customers expense), purlin clips and girt clips are missing or welded wrong or even bent to hell during shipping, purlin punches are not lining up.

On one building I even had pin holes in the buildings ridge cap which could not be seen during construction. Guess what happened during  the first rain. Yup, the Nucor steel building leaked ruining the insulation we installed. Nucors response was that it was a construction error. How does one poke invisible pin holes in 24 Gauge 80K PSI panels while assembling a building? One doesnt, it was caused by faulty Nucor steel and a dirty ridge cap former.

They blamed this on me and I was forced to pay for the error, order new parts from Nucor and new insulation. My customer also sued me and one 7600 dollars due to the delay. Read the Nucor dealer contract before you sign it! Once its signed they have you by the balls. This was not the only project Nucor has screwed up for me.

I spoke about this with Nucors management and they are just shrugging me off, telling me that there are larger buyers for them and they arent having such problems. Ive been in the metal building business for over 35 years, I know what I am doing. Dont trust them and dont lose you good name because of this awful company.

Nucor Building Systems

This company has been in business for a long while and holds it's subcontractors to a very high standard. There are some contractors out there who do very shoddy work, dont follow the plans, or change the plans at the last minute and expect Nucor to miracle parts, plans, hardware and materals to them at no cost. The person who wrote this sounds like he was held to the same high standards that his competitiors are held to and did not like it. I know many who work for and have purchased metal buildings from Nucor and have never had a single issue or problem with them. One can easily Google them and see the great reviews from customers and employees. Having the main manager also rebutt on this report shows how much they do care and strive for great customer service.

Nucor metal building major manufacturing errors and logistics problems.

AUTHOR: Darius - ()

I want to add we also are having a horrible experience with Nucor buildings.   Improper hardware,  paint problems,  parts bent incorrectly,  wrong quantities, unnecessary splicing, parts don't fit and a rafter that didn't bolt into a column because of improper manufacturing.   It's an utter mess.  The list is so long and major we don't have enough room to explain.  With the help of others we can go after this company to compensate us for our lost time and damages.  I would like to speak directly to others that have gone through this nightmare of problems with Nucor buildings out of Terrell, Texas.
