We got a financial loan from Nuvell about 2 1/2 years ago, one of only 3 companies that would finance us at the time. We put $3,000.00 down, and made all of the first 24 payments on time. Then I lost my job, since we did not have a lot saved at all, we prioritized what we were gonna spend what we had on. We called Nuvell prior to ever making a late payment, and informed them of our situation.

At first it was no problem, they were going to roll 2 months to the end of the loan for $30. So, this seemed good, we sent the $30 via a Western Union wire to them as they insisted. 20 days later, the calls began, from them relentlessly. When I told them I had paid $30 to roll 2 months to the end of the loan, they said that was for a late fee. Even my credit report shows every payment to that point on time, and when it wasnt on time later, it was on my report in less than a week it seemed. They informed me since it was late now, that they could not extend it anyways. You have to extend PRIOR to being late, which I have proof of doing & paying via Western Union within 2hours of conversation, but they decided how it was going to be.

So now, the $30 rollover fee is now my late fee, WTF? I told them it was going to be at least 2 months, that being the worst case scenario, and if they couldn't wait, then come repo it. I have never had a vehicle repoed, but I have seen people lose vehicles while they were sleeping. I let them know that the truck was parked at the address in which I recieved the loan 30 months ago, not locked or gated in. The phone calls began.

They started calling about 10 times a day on my cell, my wife's, and our home phone. We answered everyone the first day, then realized they were just harrassing us, because no matter how hard they tried, we didnt have the money, just come get the truck we said. They kept calling, only now they were using the internet to find out who our neighbors were and having them deliver messages to our door about how the company we financed the truck through couldnt reach us, did they by chance see the truck at our house. HOW FREAKING EMBARRASSING!

They were calling all of our neighbors, and then they somehow found the home numbers for the following people in our family: my mother in law (lives 30+ miles away), my father (over 5 miles away), my EX sister in law who divorced my brother 3 years ago!, and at least 2 of the neighbors for each one of those family members. My father & mother in law told them to cease contact with them, they continued to call, because when they wouldnt answer for a few days, they began bugging their neighbors!

When i finally lost it, i told them to come get it or I would burn it to the ground at the police station and they could verify the VIN with the local police, the lady rudely snubbed, we tried but our driver wouldnt pick it up because your tools were in the bed of the truck. I found out they sent a driver twice. They knew full well where the truck was because one, I had told them, and two, so did their driver. But they still continued to try and embarrass us because of something beyond our control.

It wasnt about the truck anymore, it was pure hatred they had for us because they didnt apply a $30 payment where it should have been. I could not bear to talk to them anymore, so my wife began to and then she got to the point where we just said screw it; they have embarrassed and intimidated us so much that we just didnt care anymore.

They still call our relatives and the truck still sits next to our house gathering dust because I refuse to drive it and refuse to give them any more money after that. I have filed complaints after reading informative literature about collection harrassment, but if you like your dignity, DO NOT FINANCE THROUGH NUVELL.

The names of the folks we dealt with were: Naomi (Manager), Lori (VERY HATEFUL PERSON), Charity, and a few others, but these 3 were the ones who harrassed us over and over again. After we told them we had an attorney and they werent allowed to do it, after relatives told them to cease contact, they relentlessly embarrassed us and took our simple dignities away.
