Ohio Energy Program is a scam.  Bill Erby and Andy Brinner 330- 760-6364  is a Scam Artist. Call 937 554-4293 if you want to be taken advantage of.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

I recently found a job posted in Craigslist offering employment for a company who calls themselves Ohio Energy Program.  This "company" is an extension of the now well publicized Universal Electric scam.

If you do not know the story, Ohio Energy Program LLC Electric made money by going door to door and selling people on  a electric price protection program. You would sign up with assurances from the representative that the cost per kkw would continue at the same rate offered by Consumer's Energy and that the purpose of the contract was to guarantee that in the future it would not go over the $.699 per kkw for three years. BUT, That never happens. The next bill shows up and you are paying a new rate; a difference of more money than you paying with your old electric company.

The price to remove yourself from the contract is an additional $100.00

Incorrect Information

AUTHOR: HelpingOthers - (United States of America)

This is a response to the information posted above that is very inaccurate.

The Ohio Energy Program is in no way part of a scam.  The report claims a "universally publicized scam."  There is no such scam anywhere.

The universally publicized information shows that residents are now able to pay significantly less for their electric by choosing a free-market company for their electric or natural gas while also keeping their same utility bill and provider.  I cused to pay 9.7 cents for my electric, and now pay 6.49 cents. A dramatic difference.

Residents get phone calls, they get mailers daily, but they are very difficult to understand.  The Ohio Energy Program focuses on educating the public on their market options in person.  OEP helps customers to read thier bills, and understand which line items are effected by the lower cost (generation and transmission.)

There are multiple problems with the claim reported, "the cost per kwh would continue at the same rate offered by Consumer's Energy and that the purpose of the contract was to guarantee that in the future it would not go over the $.699 per kkw for three years. BUT, That never happens. The next bill shows up and you are paying a new rate; a difference of more money than you paying with your old electric company."

-OEP has NEVER represented Consumer's Energy

-OEP's rate is currently .$0649 and it is for electric only.  The price of $.699 is a natural gas price, and the OEP did not offer gas until August of 2012, this complain was filed in Feb. 2012, so it could not possibly be a complaint on the OEP.

-Since the article mentions electric, the only possibilty is that the consumer enrolled in a program that didn't reflect yet on the bill, as it takes 1-2 billing cycles(1-2 months) before the change would show on a bill.  Considering the claim was filed in February of 2012, it is almost impossible for a change to be reflected on a bill, as OEP did not sign the first electric contract until January 22nd of 2012.

-It is very possible that this customer is just confused, but in March would have actually noticed a guaranteed rate of $.0699 lowering their overall cost of electricty from $.097 with the home utility and realizing a savings of over 27% on the generation portion of the bill.

-It is imposssible for OEP to be a scam as OEP #1 Doesn't ever charge a single $ for services, and #2 only gets paid for lower a customer's energy savings.

-OEP also has no termination fee for any current rate reduction programs in the Dayton, OH
