My fiancee has a daughter with a woman he was never married to. Since Feb 2012 the child has had to come live with us due to the mother not being able to provide a stable home for the child. (She also has drug issues but hasnt been caught by law enforcement yet). Since October the child has lived with us and the mother filed for medicaid and other services with DWS as well as due to her filing with DWS, ORS opened a new case for Child support and not only are they taking child support from his paycheck they even upped the amount they are taking from what it was just a few weeks ago. We have informed ORS the child lives with us but they are still taking child support, there is no legally custody set and no COURT orders for the child support to be given. They even refused to stop the support, all they have done is mail us and the mother a form to fill out so they can see how much we claim the child is at our home versus what the mother claims and IF they match then they will LOWER payments! How can they be doing this, we should not be giving them money for a child that we are taking care of every day! No ONE will help us and we cannot afford an attorney because ORS is taking our money!
