Oak Run Apartments Will NEVER work with anyone, Rude and Unprofessional Staff, Very inflexible, Exhorbitant Fees/Charges and ROACHES!!!! Dallas, Texas

This place has a terrible, TERRIBLE ROACH PROBLEM!

I have never lived anywhere with so many roaches! They come from between the walls and there is absolutely no way to get rid of them. I have called the Office several times to complain. My neighbors are complaining. Where I last lived there were NO ROACHES!

The apartment sends out one of their "professionals" to spray the place and he uses chemicals he bought from Walmart that cost about $5.00. He was using chemicals I had already purchased.

Second, this apartment is not competitive on their rent. The apartments right across the street are cheaper by $100.00. I found that out TOO LATE!!!

Third, this place nickels and dimes you and is constantly changing office staff. They are managed by a company out of California called JRK Leasing and even their management office is unresponsive. My payday fell on a Federal Holiday and my direct deposit was put off by one day and they refused to waive a one day late $75.00 fee! This is a common complaint that no matter how good a tenant you are or how on time you are, if you have one hiccup they don't care.

On top of the $75.00 fee, there is a late fee of $15 dollars additional added per day so in no time you can rack up hundreds of dollars. Apparently the state of Texas does not cap late fees and allows companies to ROB their tenants. Texas is the first state I have EVER lived in where the apartments charge exhorbitant late fees even though the cost is really not provable.

Texas law states that a late fee cannot be so much that it "imposes a penalty" and must only be to reimburse the owners for whatever expense they incurred however the apartments here in Texas use Exhorbitant late fees to really add to their bottom line. Why should someone living in a one bedroom be charged TWICE to THREE times as much as someone living in a $500,000.00 house on being late. Why charge more than mortgage companies? If it is not you trying to take advantage of people!

Last, the apartment staff is RUDE. I disputed a late fee and was hung up on and when I called back they continued to hang up on me. When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager started hanging up the phone and disconnecting the phone over and over. WTF? I mean, I AM PAYING RENT HERE!!!!

To anyone thinking of moving here, please don't. Not worth your time. Especially with the roaches and rude staff.
