FRAUD ALERT--AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! The place looks great with marble floors and woodwork, but DO NOT let that fool you. Looked at Oakmonte Village-Lake Mary with my parents and after a nice tour and happy hour they sat us down and gave us the "Think you're good enough" sales pitch." It was obvious that they cared more about money than people.
The salesperson showed my parents and I an apartment model and quoted us $2500 for the unit per month. When we went back a second time, after my parents had thought about it for a few weeks, and then had their hearts set on the place, the price suddenly jumped to $3500 a month and they not only wouldn't budge. This is the classic bait and switch. The manager acted like he had no knowledge of the original price when I demanded to speak to him. In fact he was kind of nasty. We got it in writing and are currently considering a law suit for baiting and switching. AND the second time we were taken into "the wrong" unit by accident, after the salesperson held the door open and waved us in, only to be quickly whisked away, once he entered and it obviously smelled like urine--it clearly had not been cleaned in months.
Oakmonte Village is also committing fraud by promising services they clearly do not intend to deliver. They promise an on-site medications specialist and there is no one in the role. They have no clear activities coordinator, and Oakmonte Village does not adhere to a schedule for any activities, which they promise for their elderly residents. The only activities they appear to engage is a cheap entertainer who sings kareoke one night a week and they take residents on a mini-bus two days a week to a strip mall. They do nothing for their residents. They provide a grande facade, non-existent services and they are baiting and switching their residents on all fronts.
After talking to residents who live there the care is non-existent once you move in.

Oakmonte Village is a great place to live

I have no idea where this person got his information. But my parents live in oakmonte and they are extremely happy. From their first hand account I know that pretty much everything he said in the report is wrong. And not just wrong, 100 percent wrong.
First, anyone who goes to the place sees its amazing. It's new and beautiful and simply a great environment. Second, there i a schedule of activities, there are doctors who come to visit on site, there is excellent food, excellent courses for seniors, and even a driverto take people to where ever they need when they need.
When we checked their prices they were either cheaper or the same cost as the other facilities in the area, only the facilities at oakmonte are new and better suited for older people.
The bottom line is this place is amazing, I have no idea where all the bull that's in the original article comes from. I suspect it's some competitor worried about the high level at oakmonte... Either way I would definitely recommend this place and encourage people to go see for themselves.
