On 8/26/2009 I called to order a part for my classic car.  I spoke to a Christyl about this order.  I told her that I wanted a dust cover gasket for my 1950 Ford engine.  I told her I needed part #P06-10690, to which she replied she did not have one in stock showing on the computer.  She ask me to wait a minute while she went to the back and checked to see if they had one on the shelve.  She returned and said they had one.  I told her to ship it to me.  She said it would take about a week to 10 days to receive it.  She said if I needed it fast she could ship it to me by FedEx and it would be here in 3 days, but it would cost more.  I told her to ship it FedEx.  I tracked it on my computer and it was delivered Saturday, Aug 29th  as she said.  When I checked the part it was the wrong part.  I called on Monday, Aug 31st and the clerk said they would reimburse me for the part, but not the shipping charges.  I explained the error was not my fault and I should be totally rembursed for all charges.  The clerk told me to call back on Tuesday, for the owner would be back as he was not available at this time.  I did so and he had not returned, for he had personel problems and to call back Wednesday.  Today Wed, September, 02 I called again. The clerk said would I like to talk to the owner's daugher, to which I replied yes.  She came on the line and refused to refund my charges.  She said she would refund the purchase price, but not the shipping charges.  I told this lady it was not my fault the wrong part was shipped and I should be reinbursed the total cost.  I also told her what the first clerk told me about paying extra for fast shipment.  She told me I had been charged normal shipment charges noting extra.  I tried to expain to her if I was just returning the part because I didn't want it I could understand the charges, but it was not my fault.  I told her I had ordered the part from another company and all I wanted now was to be reinbursed.  She said I had ordered the wrong part.  I told her I can not be held responsible if the clerk wrote the wrong part # on ther order dheet.   I would never order a part for a 54 Ford when I have a 1950 Ford.  Bothe part #'s are close together and she wrote the wrong #, not me ordering the wrong #.  At this stage I don't care about the extra shipping charges I told her It was now just the principle of the situation.  I further told her I was a long standing customer and she was just about to loose future order's from me over this transaction if I was not totally rembursed for their error.  I told her I would take my parts book and throw it in the trash can and I would never order from her company again.  She said that's ok with me and we parted converstions.
