Ocwen Mortgage Company Ripped me off for the last 6 years! Now that I want a payoff quote they are giving me the run around! West Palm Beach, Florida

I was forced to refinance 6 years ago due to a divorce. I was sold to Ocwen.  They charged me 11.75% interest on a $25,000. loan.  6 years later I still owe almost $24,000.  I have made several attempts to work with them on the interest rate.  I have great credit and have never been late on anything. 

The only thing they offered me, was to sign up for their accelerater program.  I pay more than the monthly payment and they take it directly out of my checking twice a month.  So they get their money on the dates they want it.  Come to find out the $300./month I have been paying only $290.00 of that is being applied to my loan because they charge a $10.00 a month handling fee!!

I contacted them again regarding the interest rate and they told me that I can apply for a loan modification.  But then told me that if I apply for it and I am approved I am saying that I am in financial hardship and it does affect my credit in a negative way!!

I told them that I am not in financial hardship and in jeopardy of foreclosure.  But, paying 11.75% interest I will never pay it off.  They told me that the only way to try to do anything about the interest rate is to apply for the modification which then will destroy my credit!

The only solution that I found as a last resort was my father.  His home is paid in full.  He applied for a home equity line of credit and was approved for 5.3%  So i setup auto payments from my account into his just like I had with Ocwen but I don't get charged a $10. a month handling fee.  He closed on the loan this last Friday.  Last Wednesday I requested a payoff quote and they told me it takes 4 business days to get it.

Knowing how Ocwen's track record has been, I called them last night to confirm that I am getting the payoff today.  Surprise!! Surprise!!  They have no record of my payoff request!  They said they will get it to me on Wednesday!  I refused that answer!  I am supposed to get it today.

The thing that really worries me now is that they told me that when I get my check I cannot pay it over the phone.  I have to pay it by wire transfer or Western Union!!  Then they will send the satsfaction of the loan accordingly!! I have never heard of such a thing!!  All I want to do is get this paid off and be done with Ocwen for good!
