Don't ever buy a computer from Office Max. My story of poor customer service should be enough to deter anyone from buying there.
My last lap top was stolen and I needed to get it replaced right away, and was in a hurry. Best Buy was having a problem with out of stocks since Christmas so I decided to go to Office Max where they also had no lap tops in stock.
However, their sales associate told me that if I ordered through the Kiosk I would be able to get my computer within 2 days if I paid the extra shipping cost, so I did. He also told me that the lap top would have a rebate.
So we ordered through the kiosk and printed out the information and I went to pay for this lap top. About $1500.00. At the check out I noticed that the receipt said that it would not ship for 7-14 days. So I asked the sales guy again and he said not to worry about that and that even computers with standard shipping arrive in only 4 days. So I paid and left.
I get into my car and notice that they didn't give me anything for the rebate, so I turn around and come back to the store to ask where it is. Best Buy prints them out right from the register. The same sales guy tells me that it will come in the box with the computer. "Yeah right" I thought, but figured I would deal with it later and went home.
Anyway, I am waiting for this computer and the days are going by and still no delivery, so I start calling the local Office Max to see where it is. It ends up that the people there are totally useless, and don't have a clue.
I talked to the manager named Regis, and he said he would call me back every time I asked him to check out the shipping status, and he never even called me back! All they could tell me is that their sales guy didn't know what he was talking about with the delivery time, and that they were sorry. But did they help me? No. It ends up that I did all the work myself.
Regis didn't even know the store return policy or the rebate policy. Can you believe that? What kind of manager is that untrained or brain dead? Nice store.
So I finally get disgusted dealing with the store and call their corporate HQ, where the people are just about as useless as they are at the Cranberry store. After going around and around with them, I finally get mad and ask to make a formal complaint to the regional manager. The corporate HQ said that they would have him call me. But does he? No.
HP was much easier to deal with than Office Max, and told me how the rebate works. It's just printing it from on-line. Big deal, but you would think Office Max would know this since they are selling the products.
It took 21 days for my lap top to deliver and of course I am totally disgusted with Office Max. They are lucky I like the PC or I would return it. But for now on I will only deal with HP directly.
The only thing that makes me mad is that they made money by providing piss poor service.
I will never shop there ever again, and will spread the word to everyone about how terrible their service is. Eventually they will tick off enough customers who will tell other possible customers and they will be out of business. They should ber ashamed.
If I did my job that way I would be fired as well as feeling like a useless turd. Stay away from Office Max. They are terrible, and you will have nothing but a pain and a whole lot of work to do.
Lastly, I got the charge on my credit card for the computer before the product even arrived!
OFFICE MAX is a Customer Service Nightmare!!! Heed my warning!!!
