Stacey Livinston, the owners step son, came to our house on February 28, 2006 to give us a free estimate on new windows. In conversation I mentioned the possiblity of using the windows as a tax deduction. He then stated I would have to buy the windows that evening for them to be tax deductible.

He further expanded on his lie by stating he would put a clause in the contract if we purchased additional windows within the next two years we would be able to tax deduct them as well. My husband and I decided to purchase five windows that evening.

Unfortunately we did not put my husband on the loan application because he has a poor credit score and didn't want to run into any problems getting this loan.

About a week and a half later Stacey contacted us wanting to meet with us regarding our windows. I grudgingly allowed him to come back to our house.

At this visit he came to report if I decided to purchase an additional 10 windows he would be able to put my husband on the loan and within SEVERAL MONTHS of timely payments Stacey guarenteed my husbands credit score would go up to excellent.

Stacey again expanded his lie by stating he asked the bank for this favor of increasing my husbands credit score because he wanted to help us out. He continued his storytelling stating he was able to ask for such a favor because of the millions of dollars he funds through that bank.

My husband wasn't completely sold on the idea, but I really wanted to increase my husband's credit score so we could apply for loans together and be able to get a great rate. My husband then asked how long it would take to install 15 windows. To this Stacey promised it would only take a day or he would be us dinner.

As the weeks passed, while Omega was making our windows, we came to learn the quote for the windows was extremely high. My husband then decided to call H&R Block and the credit agency. He found out the windows would be tax deductible all of 2006 and probable 2007. Additionally, the credit agency told him the salesman would not be able to promise an increased credit score.

Needless to say I was livid! The two reasons I purchased the windows were LIES. I talked to my lawyer who stated due to the language of the contract it would be very difficult to get out of.

I tried to not let the company install the windows, but they showed up at my house even though I called and told them they couldn't come out that day.

The installation probably could have been completed in a day, but because the crew quit early it took two days. I brought this to the attention of Stacey who told me he has a memo reminding him he owed us dinner.

Several weeks passed with no check for dinner. I then decided to file a complaint with the better business bureau. I asked for 5000.00 cut off the price of the loan and my free dinner.

Omega did send us check for 100.00 for dinner "out of consumer appreciation", but by no means was going to give us the money off the loan. The letter was so smug and condescending it made me even angrier.

Unfortunately, I understand this is a he said she said match. However, are you going to believe a salesman or a person who went to school to help people (I am a PA-C).
