Garcinia Cambogia, by Optimal Health Products, Savannah, GA.  This is an extremely elaborate advertisement and mail scam.  It starts as a 14 day trial which simply asks the consumer to pick up some initial  shipping charges, about 4 dollars.  Of course they need a bank account number to process your order.  That's 2 bottles they send you, 60 capsules in each bottle, something that will take a few months to use up.  The 14 days elapses and then this company hits the consumer.  They have your account and begin shipping a bottle via USPS with no receipt enclosed, just a colorful advertisement included inside with a bottle of more pills, a sign that can give the consumer the false sense of security that this was just a complimentary bottle since there is no dollar amount to reference outside or inside the packaging.  And of course your banking account is dinged, and dinged hard.  This is a company that takes items and runs with it, it assumes many items such as permission and forces the consumer to quickly recognize what is happening and then react to what they are pushing.

However there is another problem with this new bottle, without a tangible receipt, a receipt that comes with the item sent, the consumer is at the mercy of what could be described as a predatory business practice.

Consider this:  The consumer who simply wants to trial this product is lullabied by a free trial and a small shipping charge of about 4 dollars.  Then another mailer hits them like a ton of bricks (providing they quickly identify it).  I was initially charged $78.34.  It went unnoticed and it kept coming each month, adequately camouflaged  since at that amount is not only excessive but too high to be something as ordinary as a bottle of common pills.   It looks more like a utility bill, a real banking obligation.  Another alert to consumers: on my banking account it was listed as RECUR DEBIT CRD PMT08/13 ISG*MANGOXT 855-986-2646 FL.  So the consumer gets whacked hard and quickly by a company that ships items with little information of value, a company that doesn't hesitate to get quickly into motion.

As the complaints start consumers are reminded that they could have cancelled at any time.   Unfortunately, the damage to consumers is already done.  And then it is too late, next comes the phone call that consumers have to make.  How willing are they to recoup some of their loss.  Curiosity  satisfied, too many consumers fall into a trap rather than in any type of proper speed that could lead to real consumer satisfaction, the whole drama unfolds at high speed and a high cost that is completely out of balance.  This junk isn't Valium, it isn't Cannabis, it isn't Morphine.  It's bottled dust that might or might not work.  If it does work, real consumerism can't take place because the speed of the push, the absurd cost per bottle, and the lack of real information that the buyer deserves simply isn't there.  It is a shipping practice that is irresponsible.  It's a weak mix of components, predatory maybe, bad business to be sure.

Too many consumers are poised to take a bad hit and have a bad business experience.  With perhaps more time to sample the product something of value might be derived.  But this business doesn't go that direction.  They come at you fast, quiet, and in a false light.

Stay far away from this company.  It is poor business practice all the way.

If the mistake is so "common" why do I get thousands of hits when I google "Optimal Health Products complaints"

You fake a website showing the that a "common consumer mistake" was made as proof against a dispute...or your "representatives" claim the simply going to the website is your agreement.  You are wrong and you should be shut down immediately.  If the product works you don't have to "lullaby" anyone into buying your "product" and claiming that Dr. Oz says you do such great work.

Also you say the "free" trial period starts the day we order??  How can we determine the viability of your claims if you don't even wait for us to receive the product before you charge the "continuing service" fee??

Show a picture of the real website so people can see the truth.

Enjoy my money because it's all you're going to see.

A common consumer mistake...

This isnt a scam, all the terms and conditions are spelled out for you. You just have to read them. This is a common consumer mistake when they order online. As websites have many pages its oftimes missed. Mainly because a consumer will see a 14 day trial and ASSUME it starts when they recieve the product. The trial ALWAYS starts WHEN YOU PLACE THE ORDER. By the time a consumer decides they do not want the product its normally well beyond the trial time fram and they are already getting hit for the full price of the product. This is the internet consumers biggest mistake. First they order online, as they need all of your information, you are already setup for auto billing. As you quickly click through you tend to miss the fine print in a effort to step up the purchasing time.

Best Bet: READ EVERYTHING!
