In June I purchased 3 round trip tickets. The only option Orbitz gave us was to receive a paper ticket in the mail. We never received the ticket, and checked every day. I assumed (I travel a lot, and I always only need a confirmation number and ID) that we could go to the airport and board the flight fine. When we got there, the Frontier Airline Employee told us that we needed he paper ticket, because the ticket was equivalent to striaght up cash. We spent the next 5 hours on and off the phone with Orbitz, being put on hold over and over again because nobody knew anything and could not help us. One "supervisor" said that the U.S. Postal Service does NOT have tracking numbers so there is no way to track the parcel. The next "supervisor" said that there IS a tracking number on USPS parcels and according to that we did get it, though I am positive we did not. Since the trip I have looked through all the mail and still do not have it. I personally looked through the mail every day to look for it and never got it. Nobody else has access to my mail. We were not allowed to board our plane which we had payed to board, even though we were there with our confirmation number and ID's. Through the next 5 hours we heard person after person tell us that it was OUR fault that we did not receive the tickets in the mail. What kind of logic is that? They then told us that somehow Frontier Airlines would refund our money in 4 MONTHS!!! How can they refund us if ORBITZ LOST THE TICKETS that Frontier said ARE THE MONEY? I cannot wait 4 months or this money. We saved up for several months for this trip, and in the end they told us that it was too bad for us and that they couldn't he;p us. It was our fault after all, right? We ended up spending an extra 2000 dollars on round trip tickets through a different airline. I believe that it is Orbitz responsibility to pay me back IMMEDIATELY and also pay for my 2000 dollars extra for the other tickets.
Do not ever use this company. The people in harge have inconsistent information, and they put you on hold for over 30 minutes at a time, because nobody knows how to do their job properly. Also, some of the agents have very strong accents that you cannot understand. This company is irresponsible with their customers and should be put out of business.
Do not use Orbitz.
