POSTED: Thursday, December 27, 2012Of course, people who pretend that they are their own travel agent usually don't reallize this until they've screwed up their first booking. That's when they realize that they were in over their heads from the start. It has nothing to do with the airline or the online site.

POSTED: Thursday, December 27, 2012- NO. Orbitz did not screw up. From your own admission in your original report you stated..."I've made one mistake"
So Orbitz did not screw up..you did. And as stated in the first response since you screwed up you have to take the responsibility of acting as your own travel agent.
By the way before you post the next obvious response..no I am not an employee of Orbitz or any other Travel company. I also will avoid these "middleman" sites, instead booking directly with the airline. For this for this exact "he said/she said" situation. But if you choose to go to these sites you also have to accept the responsibility if you "screw up".

POSTED: Thursday, December 27, 2012- You wanted to save $30-$50 so you acted as your own travel agent. When you act as your own travel agent YOU accept all responsibility to make sure that your ticket is correct.
As for the tickets all tickets are E-Tickets..unless you want to pay even more money to get a paper ticket. Of course that wouldn't have solved your issue here. With your Passport Number, the Airline itself will allow you to enter that information upon check-in. In reality Orbitz doesn't need that information. Have you even talked to the airline to see if they could do anything(may be a long shot but worth a try).
