Orbitz Sucks! I will never use their service again and will shout that loudly at every single social networking website, so people are careful in buying their services. I've made one mistake (missed 1 letter from my wife's surname), which I realized 1 week before trip. I spent hours (waiting for being connected to their "supervisor") and asking them to resolve the situation. ...I got nothing from them, but lost my money (approx. USD 900). Their service sucks, they all sucks and I will never use them again!!! They even didn't give us any ticket number, no put my wife's passport number into the ticket. People, better use a real travel agent and pay 30-50$ for their service and be sure, that you will get your real ticket!.

Exactly.

Even if you deal directly with the airline, if you screw up the booking on a non-refundable ticket, you'll be in exactly the same boat.    That is the way it works in the travel biz.

Of course, people who pretend that they are their own travel agent usually don't reallize this until they've screwed up their first booking.   That's when they realize that they were in over their heads from the start.   It has nothing to do with the airline or the online site.

Incorrect Statement...

So, Orbitz screwed up and I do not trust them anymore.

- NO. Orbitz did not screw up.   From your own admission in your original report you stated..."I've made one mistake"

So Orbitz did not screw up..you did.  And as stated in the first response since you screwed up you have to take the responsibility of acting as your own travel agent.

By the way before you post the next obvious response..no I am not an employee of Orbitz or any other Travel company.  I also will avoid these "middleman" sites, instead booking directly with the airline.  For this for this exact "he said/she said" situation.  But if you choose to go to these sites you also have to accept the responsibility if you "screw up".

Airline - Orbitz footballing game

AUTHOR: Shadowuz - (Switzerland)

I contacted the airlines after Orbitz said that it could not help me with my problem and referred me to the airlines. When I called to the airlines, they referred me back to the online broker "Orbitz", who could make changes (according to the airlines). So, I have been caught between these two companies, basically, playing a football game, where I felt to be a ball. So, Orbitz screwed up and I do not trust them anymore.

- You wanted to save $30-$50 so you acted as your own travel agent.  When you act as your own travel agent YOU accept all responsibility to make sure that your ticket is correct.

As for the tickets all tickets are E-Tickets..unless you want to pay even more money to get a paper ticket.  Of course that wouldn't have solved your issue here.   With your Passport Number, the Airline itself will allow you to enter that information upon check-in.  In reality Orbitz doesn't need that information.   Have you even talked to the airline to see if they could do anything(may be a long shot but worth a try).
