On May 25, 2011 my friend called Orbitz, got a res agent on line and conferenced me in.  The agent was located in INDA.  She began the conversation by saying we wanted a price on the all-inclusve package at the Omni Hotel in Cancun.  The agent quoted us a price, which we liked.  I hung up while she and the agent booked, then the agent called me to book.

We found out in late July - 3 weeks prior to travel - that she had not booked all-inclusive.  Orbitz customers service rep Frankie claimed he had a copy of the conversation and no, we did not say we wanted all-inclusive.  Orbitz lied and denied, would not compromise and obviously, would not admit its error.  We had to pay the additional amount for the package.

It should be noted that I have 2 kids in college and wanted to keep the cost of this trip within a determined amount.  She is widowed with 1 kid in college - money is tight. Had the agent been clear that this was not all-inclusive, we would have not booked this resort.

We notified the BBB, which is a complete waste of time.  All they did is send emails back and forth between me and Orbitz.  No one at BBB reviews the claims.  during this process, Orbitz tried to see we booked ourselves.  The retracted this and blamed it on their software.  They told us that the recording of the call Frankie had - the one where we did not say we wanted all-inclusive" was not the original May 25 call.  It was a call we made to them in July. The send the other family screen shots that gave the appearance of fraud - screenshots that she had not created that had boxes for excursions checked that we did not want or have as part of our package.

After much back and forth Sarah Newton the customer service rep at the Chicago HQ, admitted that we did not book the trip ourselves.  This is after several emails claiming we had.  Her emails were filled with lies, denials and false accusations and were apparent that she had not done her due diligence in researching our case.

Without paying $150 to go to arbitration - which is a lower cost because ORbitz is a member of BBB - which I wonder is a conflict of interest on BBB's part - Orbitz is BBB's source of revenue.  Claimants are not a source of BBB revenue - there is nothing we can do.  Orbitz(((REDACTED FOUL LANGUAGE)))us, lied, denied, sent fraudulent information over the internet.  BBB is totallty useless - a complete waste of time and added to the frustration.

CONCLUSION:
BAD News travels faster than good news - let the world know how Orbitz is crooked and lacks customer service.
ORBITZ SUCKS!!!

You have done everything right

AUTHOR: Stephen Fred - (USA)

Since they have the recording of the call, and they have already misled the email conversations. You have filed a compliant with the BBB, but have you talked with your Attorney General? Or with any attorney for that matter? It may not be that big of a deal to go to court over but you do have other options than venting on the internet.
