My father has MS and is a 100% service connected Veteran. His children have been taking care of his medical needs for about the last 12 years. He lives alone in an independent living facility in Portland in Washington County. Almost two years ago we (kids) were informed that our father wanted to move. Our father, along with severe physical limitations from his MS has quite severe cognitive impairments as well, he was also hit by a motor vehicle while sitting on his scooter a few years ago and had to have a leg amputated. We were concerned for him because he seemed happy where he was living and had always been provided good care. Come to find out, his VA conservator had been working with a few EX employees of the home where he lives to move him into another facility-all without family knowledge. We did some investigating and found out that these EX employees were no longer welcomed at my dads facility and there were charges pending against them with the police dept. APPARENTLY, this was not important information to my dads VA CONSERVATOR as he was facilitating the move with these folks. Our family went before a judge who gave us an emergency 30 day guardianship over our father to keep him from moving, (he didn't know any better.) and keep him protected against being taken advantage of. I was APAULED that A VA employee would have such dis regard for the safety of their SO CALLED "protected person!" When the VA found out what we had done to stop the move and protect dad ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! 2 years in court. Our family was slandered and shredded in court. We lost all ability to take care of our fathers needs. Now the ODVA has control over his money and his medical care. And the fight is not over. The ODVA feels they do not need court approval or a motion to take funds out of my dads estate-it is against the law, but they continue to do so. The judge in Washington Co is no better-she has done NOTHING to protect my father and I don't believe even saw all the paperwork that went before her. What a disgrace!!! So someone please tell me now that I am broke and still fighting for my dads rights, who will listen and help?? US Reps? Nope! Tried that. Our Senators? Nope-too busy trying to get re-elected! Jim Willis the Director? Nope-Doesn't want to return our calls. Who then? Can't be heard in a court of law-Who is it then who will care enough for someone who can't speak for himself??? I am currently shopping media outlets. I am sure my father is NOT the only disabled VET who the ODVA continues to disregard and financially abuse. I am outraged with their behavior and the behavior of Mr. Willis, and our corrupt assistant attorney general!! This is fact folks-on paper facts-not spewing from an angry random crazy person. Pathetic!!

Pathetic-!! My dad was moved by his court appointed guardian into a nursing home the day before Christmas-no one knew-he had no say. Basically kidnapped from his home. He became depressed and suicidal...The guardian did nothing, the judge did nothing, dads own attorney did nothing. When he tried to escape on his scooter, (95 pound man) the guardian moved him once again to a lock facility-didn't hook a phone up for him and restricted family and friends from seeing him. His guardian forced him into having an Angiogram, which I could not accompany him to-he spent the next week sick and in pain-no one cared to have him checked out-when an outside VA nurse came to see him she was so distraught by what she found she sent him straight to ER. He died 3 days later. He had a court appointed guardian who was supposedly going to do better than how the family had taken care of dad for over thirteen years. We weren't good enough anymore-but it too Judge Cobbs guardian 9 week to kill my father. Wonder if that is a record for her?

This evening I found out that the assistant attorney general is hauling me to court to impose sanction on myself and my brothers... for all the years of caring for our dad, keeping him safe, supporting him, protecting him.... I am being sanctioned because I am now sorely in debt with legal fees, 50 pounds overweight, on meds to control stress and anxiety because I CARE too much about my dad and want him not to be taken advantage of????? I am being sanctioned because the ODVA is a corrupt agency and corrupt with their behavior-I didn't shut up and go away-so now they'll try and make me..... MEDIA???? Where are you?????
