Received a letter in the mail in a Costco envelope saying I had won the MEGA LOTTERY in the UK. They had made unsuccessful attempts to contact me and I'm entitled to the sum of $125000.00 from total prize money of $4mil that was shared among 32 others. Check enclosed in the amount of $3985.00 but don't cash until you call us. The check is meant to cover government taxes and will be deducted from the winnings. Taxes are $1985.00.

I was immediately skeptical when I saw this letter. I work in the printing industry and the Costco logo on the outside of the envelope was very poor quality. It had obviously been scanned into a computer and then printed out on the envelope. The letter inside was printed on standard white paper. No letter head or special type paper. I would think that if I had won the lottery, the letter that I receive wouldn't be presented so poorly. Also, in the letter itself, it makes no mention to Costco. The entire way the letter is formatted is so basic that it looks like it was not done professionally. Bee aware of these plain letters!

After I looked the letter over I decided to google it and came across the article on here. I was happy to have discovered it a fake so fast. It saved me a lot of time and maybe saved me from getting wrapped up in a scheme. Thank you for reporting.
