I am in my sixties and on disability and on a limited income. They sold a garage door to a tenant of my property, installed it took my rental properties old garage door and disposed of it all without my permission. and now they have put a lien against my rental property for the amount of the garage door (over 2 thousand dollars)

I didn't sign anything that gave them permission to do this nor did i have knowlege that the tenant had done this. and worst of all when the tenant moved out (because i found out about this) he took the garage door with him. i did not know a company can sell a product to a tenant and then hold the landlord responsible for something they had no knowlege of. this just isn't right !!!!

Let me clarify

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

I am an employee of the "real" Overhead Doors Inc. company. I have never heard of PDS or Precision. Overhead Doors is in NO WAY affilliated with these other comanies that you speak of. We do however install both residential and commercial doors, as well as gates and gate operators. I will say this, Overhead doors is prob the best company I have ever worked for. I have worked for a few other mom and pop door companies (not Precision) and I can tell you that the real Overhead Doors company WILL NOT rip people off or screw people in any way! We work very hard at satisfying our customers to best of our abilities and giving them competitive prices. We try to give homeowners as many price breaks as we can. But we are in business to build the business and can not always do that. This location has been in business for 16 years now and we have a very high rateing with the BBB and our customers. Now we do get an occasional customer that we cannot satisfy no matter what we do. I'm assuming that all companies have these. But we DO try!

Now for the situation on the rented homes. We will NOT install a door on a house that is leased or rented. We ask ALL customers that are replaceing their doors if the installation is on a rented or leased home. If yes, then we tell them that we cannot help them WITHOUT homeowner's approval. We have had that very thing happen to us as well. But thankfully the homeowner decided to purchase the door. If he had not, we would NOT have held him respnsible for it.

When we install a door for a homeowner, that address is stored in our office computers. It DOES NOT matter if that homeowner sells that house. If the new owner has problems with that door or operator, we WILL repair it free of charge as long as it is still under original warranty. Our warranty is one full year from date of installation and we stand behind it. Our building contractors are warrantied diff though. They build a house; we install the door and operator; the warranty does not start untill the day the home buyers MOVE IN.

I once worked for a door company that tried to use Overhead Door's name. Needless to say I didn't work there for very long.

I am sorry that you guys have gotten screwed by Precision or PDS. I agree that that is one company that needs to be put down. They are, in a way, hurting Overhead Door's (Red Ribbon) name. If the truck that comes to your house does not have the red ribbon decal on it, They are NOT Overhead Doors Inc. Though Overhead Doors is a franchised company, diff people own diff territories. But we all have the same logos.

I hope my report has helped you clarify the diff in the companies that you are comparing/talking about.

Just another note. I have never seen or heard of a Overhead Door company with a BLUE ribbon logo that was mentioned. If there is one, They ARE NOT the ORIGINAL Overhead Doors. Just remember, our logo is a RED ribbon logo. I have seen some companies put our red ribbon logo on their trucks before so be carefull. If you are unsure, visit our web site at www.overheaddoor.com. There, you will find all of our locations with addresses and phone #'s.

Thank you for your time.

Oh, please! same song and dance routine?

AUTHOR: April - (U.S.A.)

Marcus,

Still at the same song and dance routine? PDS is the ONLY non legit company plan and simple. The real orverhead door does not charge overwhelming prices, I've seen their pricing lists. So don't BS people. Once again PDs is the one everyone else is after, so stop getting up in something you know nothing about.

"The" Overhead Door Co. isn't above charging $2000 for a door

AUTHOR: Marcus - (U.S.A.)

I have a neighbor who moved into a new house and it needed a new door. She lived in Oregon and asked the old owner who had not moved out to have one installed for her and she would pay for it on her Visa. When the OHD tech wrote up the bill he put the old owner's name on the bill even though the new owner (my friend) paid with her Visa.
Within a month of the new owner moving in, her $2000 door broke. When the rep from OHD came out he said- no wonder it broke, it was installed wrong. When she showed him her original bill he told her that there was no warranty since the old owner's name appeared on the bill!

Yes April, Precision Door is not the only company that will take advantage of people.

By the way, AAA Overhead Door aka GA Door, Texas Door and who know whatever other door is now in 15 cities now. Way to go Peter Stephens. Keep on rippin'

Reinforcement of Response

AUTHOR: Jack - (U.S.A.)

Again I state that Overhead Door of Des Moines is not affiliated with Precision Door Service.

I can also say with absolute honesty that I have never met Dale Waldorf, I have never called Dale and I have no idea of who he thinks I am but he is obviously badly mistaken and should apologize.

What? The real Overhead is a residential and commercial company, legit I might add unlike PDS, that runs out of offices all over the US

AUTHOR: April - (U.S.A.)

Jack,

Several things, you claim there is no affilation, however, you rebuttalled as an employee. OK< Rockledge is PDS's home base, not the "Original Overhead." The real Overhead is a residential and commercial company, legit I might add unlike PDS, that runs out of offices all over the US. They are not a commercial only company.

By the way, I know exactly who I am talking to, so I would advise you NOT to call my home again as I have left that message on my voice mail for future reference. I guess it goes to show, PDS is still up to their old ways.

Overhead of Iowa not affiliated with Precision Door

AUTHOR: Jack - (U.S.A.)

Overhead Door Des Moines is not in any way connected to Precision Door Service. The individuals claiming such are incorrect. Overhead Door is a large commercial door company operating nationwide not affiliated with Precision.

For accurate information on Precision Door contact the company directly at 321-433-3494 and ask about the national warranty policy.

Precsions same game, sounds to me like they did to you what they're trained to do.

AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

I was an employee of Precision before moving to NY. I have to say, your report sounds to me like they did to you what they're trained to do.

The above rebuttals are right, they can not hold you responsible. However, Precision has lawyers that would screw anyone over, if they thought they could get away with it.

Let's face it, would a good attorney represent a company like this? Someone else wrote that there was a REAL Overhead Door company in Iowa. This is true, only, Precision is crafty, they tell people that they are Overhead, maybe even give them Overhead's address or phone number when the whole time, you've been dealing with Precision, not Overhead.

Precision is located jsut blocks away. It's their usual bait and switch. Precision has put myself and boyfriend through a lot of crap in just a year.

I know how these other ex-employees feel as well as the people being screwed. I hope the others that are tring to bring them down do it.

Questions to your rebuttal ...your wrong!

AUTHOR: April - ()

After reading your rebuttal over and over again, it became very confussing as to what company you were speaking about or for. Which company are you saying deals primarily with commercial? Here's why this confusses me: PDS deals with residental, the "blue Ribbon" original Overhead deals with some commercial, but primarily with residental. If this is a "Legit" Overhead, then your statements are incorrect.

As to being 2 differnt companies, your wrong their too. You see the original and legit Overhead is about to change their name. Why? Simply because PDS has done to their company what they've done to so many others. They have misused their name, given them a bad rep', and many of the owners have been found to be in some way connected to PDS.

Make sure you have the right company

AUTHOR: Brett - ()

As an addendum to the above rebutal about Precision Door Service:
There is a legitimate company in Iowa called Overhead Door Company with a facility near Iowa City. This sounds like it is a different company as they deal primarily with commerical and industrial doors (such as you would find on loading docks) and generally not with residential garage doors.

Precision Door Service Stikes Again!!!

AUTHOR: Dale & April - ()

First, let me give most deepest apologies for the acts of this company. Unfortunately this is another of Precision Door Services aliases. I worked for them and that this is part of their ruthless actions taken deliberatly upon people and especially people in you circumstances.

It may help a little to know that I am working in conjunction with many people to stop this company, their aliases and their scams. California has taken action against them and Maryland is in the process.

There are many things I want to tell you to do at this point. Know that NO MATTER where else you call to get a door price with a TDHA (take down haul away) it will NOT be over $1600 for any door, that was the first part of them ripping you off. Secondly, I checked with the laws of your state, if you did not sign any papers authorizing them to do such, they CAN NOT hold you responsible, but will have to go after the renters of your property. I know for a fact that you didn't sign any such paper, why? Because Precision and all their aliases have a "fraudulent" contact paper. There would have been nothing for you to sign authorizing such work and it would have to have been signed by your tenants. Precisions contact is a basic, here's the price, here's the problems, sign here because if you don't someone will be injured by this door and we won't be at fault, (cause you didn't realize we tampered with your door first) contract.

DO NOT FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB. They are working in conjunction with Precision and will not help you in any way. I have proof of this and have taken actions against the BBB for their criminal activities. What you need to do now is file a complaint with your Attorney General. Most AG offices can be contacted via web search. Some one will get in contact with you shortly, tell them this was not authorized, they put a lien on you and that the previous tenants took the door. Also mail them or attach an e-mail with any documentation you have. Also let them know they they have been shut down in California and are investigated in several other states including Maryland. Print a copy of this report and my report on Precision, I list all their aliases. Also you need to let them know that this is a nationwide scam and you need their help. They WILL help.

Please keep your report updated with any knew information you have. Good luck!
