I recommend pulling the other 2 credit reports
AUTHOR: Tracy - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, September 01, 2003
POSTED: Monday, September 01, 2003I recommend pulling the other 2 credit reports, there are 3 in all, Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union to check and see if it is listed on the other reports as well. Then send in dispute letters to the bureaus requesting that they contact the Collection agency to verify its accuracy.
The date you stated in your post is the date that the collection agency reported/started collection efforts, not the date the debt with the orginal creditor occurred.
Please keep us updated and Good Luck.
