I had a horrendous experience with PNC Bank that should serve as a warning to other depositors. After over twenty years as a customer, I expected some appreciation for my loyalty. The exact opposite occurred. A shifty lawyer filed a bogus Subpoena--long after the allowable time that information could be requested and far more extensive than anything that the other side would ever be allowed to receive--for records to which they were not entitled, which I (and my lawyer) told them. But, rather than protect my interests and ask for a court to certify the Subpeona was valid, they responded to the Subpeona because they "did not want to get involved". My other bank did the right thing and refused to turn over private records without a Court Order. PNC gave them 10 years of every account I had at the bank! It was a terrible invasion of privacy--all facilitated by this miserable bank.

So let my experience act as a cautionary tale to all of you who would consider doing business with PNC. They will NOT protect your privacy. They WILL do what is most expedient for them--even if it is at your expense. And to make matters worse, they have hidden charges all over the place to increase their profits while paying minumum rates of interest. Be warned. PNC is not a consumer-friendly bank. They do not value longstanding customers and, IMHO are a massive rip-off bank who uses their size to take advantage of their customers.
