Unfortunately the only time you probably will ever believe this is when a fraudulent check comes through his account with his older signature on it. That because it is what was on the card..they paid it. Of course if that does happen the first thing you will be screaming is that they should have gotten an updated card.
Now, before you go off saying "Well you are an employee"..sorry I am not an employee of this or any other bank. You could put the name of any bank in your report and I would have said the exact same thing. So, if you want to change banks...go right ahead
But how are you going to do that without him doing the exact same thing that PNC wants you to do to get a new signature card on file? If you find a bank that is more lenient on something like this...perhaps you should take a step back and think about just how safe that actually is. After all without some sort of verification that he was actually the one who signed the card what would keep someone you knew that had enough information from changing the signature card and emptying his account?
