Tonight a female, aged approximately 20-25 years of age moved through our neighborhood selling magazine subscriptions per Sunshine Subscription Agency. Her pitch was that she was selling to win a points-based contest which would provide her with prize money to invest in a 'Comedy Club' which she claimed would either be called "pickles," or "the wet noodle." her hair was shoulder length in a pony tail and she was wearing a tank top, black in color, and some shorts.

My roommate purchased a subscription from her with a check and let her slip out of doors. I found this site and showed it to him. He chased her down and got his check back.

Now, from my research, I can't seem to find anything useful to establish this company being fraudulent. What I have found is that, Palmetto Marketing's President is involved in a civil lawsuit involving assault and rape. More, certain members of the sales team have been charged with petty theft and violent crimes. Also, I've read that the 800 number this company is giving out belongs to a dress shop. There seems to be no web address whatsoever for this national company.

I think she's running a scam. According to my neighbors, she's giving out more than one first name for herself and also falsifying her origin. She's from Florida, she's from Mississipi, she's from Idaho. Her memory is poor. In addition, her response to the this ripoff report when shown to her was less than professional: she threw a fit, stamped her foot, and blamed the stupidity of john q. citizen rather than offer a proof of her company's legitimacy.

The police were called and did nothing. Although, they did tell my neighbor that she had been asked to leave town due to a physical altercation at another residence.
