The same people that were running the Travel Club scam out of Coral Springs, FL, in several states called Paradise Today, has now changed their name to Waterblue Vacation with a new website (www.wbvsales.com) and a new toll free number (877-880-4270).

After doing a tremendous amount of research and due diligence, I found out that they have ripped off hundreds and thousands of people out of millions of dollars. They go from state-to-state and rent a presentation room at a local hotel for their gig.

The approach:

A week or so before their arrival, they launch a MASS mail campaign via post cards and news paper ads (like they did in our hometown Cincinnati, OH) offering people a "complimentary" vacation which typically includes 2 airline tickets and 3/2 hotel stay (Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, etc).

Once people receive the postcard in the mail or see the ad in their local newspaper, curiously gets the best of them and they call the number provided on the postcard/ad. And get this...if you call within 48 hours, you would also get a dinner cert and/or a $100 gas voucher.

When you call to find out more about this great "complimentary" vacation, the call center gives you a pitch about attending a 90 min. slide show presentation that would "teach" you how you can save $$$ on your future travel and vacation needs.

OF COURSE you also find out that the gifts are not free, they're "COMPLIMENTARY"!!! You are responsible to pay for your taxes and activation fees. $140 or so dollars to activate the gifts and the taxes are, "whatever your state taxes are."

Well, the last time I checked the dictionary, "complimentary" meant FREE.

The concept:

At the presentation, they try to sell you a "Software License" which would give you access to their Internet Software Service (ISS). They offer 4 different "licenses", each different in price. Depending on which "license" you buy, you would get anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks of vacation per year. In addition, they promise to save you hundreds and thousands of dollars on airline tickets, cruises, car rentals, etc.

Pretty AWESOME concept...huh? NOT SO FAST!!!

First of all, the "complimentary" gifts are a JOKE and a complete RIPOFF! Whether if you purchase their product or not, you walk away with these gifts in the form of a voucher.

Then you call to "activate" them and pay the required activation fee through a Pay-Pal account. You wait and wait and wait and....(you get the idea), only to find out that you've been gypped.

Second, if you are one of these unfortunate people like us, you buy into this scam only to find out no discounts, no customer service, no return phone calls, no return emails. The couple of times I was lucky enough to get someone on the phone for a quote, I was appalled by the prices they quoted me...to say the least.

I was able to find better deals, myself, on sites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheaptickes, etc.

If I didn't know better, they browse the internet on these same sites and quote you a price!

Never...not even once, I was able to get a discount on any travel related items from Paradise Today, Waterblue Vacations or whatever other name they go by.

I encourage everyone who has purchased from them to write a letter to your states Attorney General office about this scam in an effort to bring a class action law suit against them, and afterwards...put them AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
