The kennel that Pat Crabtree has is an extremely sad and disturbing place. I have purchased dogs in the past that came from this kennel via Jim Haywood, dog broker extraordinaire. He has brokered these dogs for years. If you have received one from Pat, via Jim, then it probably is unhealthy. He would carry the dogs in crates in his car trunk, put them in crates in a shed as well as in his home basement. While Pat did need to be disbarred from AKC for falsifying records and selling unhealthy dogs, so did Jim. But AKC refused to sanction him. How do I know all this? Barb Briedenback Misty Morn Chihuahuas) and myself sent AKC documents and all paperwork requested to investigate him. They did nothing to Mr. Haywood but finally did sanction Ms. Crabtree. I have personally walked through her kennel in the past and saw all her dogs. People like herself and Mr. Haywood will do anything for the almighty dollar. Mr. Haywood lived in Brighton, Co. I do not know if he still resides there or not as he has a tendency to change his phone number. He is as guilty as Ms. Crabtree of selling puppy mill puppies and not standing behind the health guarantee he gives to customers with the purchase of a puppy. I spent much money on dogs that had genetic problems as well as health issues over the years. How can we stop the unethical dog brokers as well as the puppy mills. Ms. Crabtree's kennel has wire runs, 2-3 dogs per crate. Consumers please check out your breeders the best you can, investigate, ask questions and go with your gut if you have a funny feeling. Do not buy puppies from puppy mills and ask if they go to the dog auctions. You will never be the same again if you attend one of those.
