In January 2012 I received a number of emails from an organisation calling themselves profitstocharity.co.uk. They claimed to be raising monies for three UK-based charities. One of those charities was Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity (GOSHCC). The lure was a free 20 if you did a small survey. In effect, you had to join another white label version of Greasy Palm, a cashback website.
I contacted GOSHCC as I had concerns whether profitstocharity.co.uk was a legitimate business. They told me they had no connections with profitstocharity.co.uk and had already asked them to remove any mention of GOSHCC from the website, but they had failed to do so.
What has this to do with Greasy Palm? Well, profitstocharity.co.uk and Greasy Palm are both part of Submission Technology. The managing director of Submission Technology is Paul Knapp. It was Paul Knapp that GOSHCC contacted to get their details removed from the profitstocharity. [continued below]....
I contacted Paul Knapp to ask about the profitstocharity.co.uk website but he did not want to answer any questions. Instead, he became very aggressive and abusive. Knapp said I will take illegal action against you..., you are a waste of space..., you should do away with yourself or something....
I was not prepared to deal with a company whose Managing Director exhibited such behaviour. So, I effectively closed my Greasy Palm account and will never use them again.
It took several more weeks before Submission Technology removed any mention of the three charities from the Profits to Charity website.
Submission Technology also runs numerous white label versions of Greasy Palm websites and I found out they are behind netflip.co.uk as well. After those Viagra spam emails, Submission Technology accounted for the most spam arriving in my email box.
Submission Technology also runs a website called paidoffers.co.uk. An adjudication by the Advertising Standards Authority can be viewed here...
There is also ample evidence that Submission Technology publishes false testimonials to promote itself on various websites...
Note how the same testimonials appear on these websites, with just a few subtle changes to the wording to reflect the website that Submission Technology is attempting to promote!
